Scout Variant

Greetings all.  Thought I'd share this for all pathfinders who might be interested in a variant to the standard scout trooper.  Melee focused scouts with some sort of harness and a large canister on their back

They seem to be the same base outfit. Minus the pouches and plus a harness webbing with a cylindrical pod attached to it. Everything else appears to be the same from the footage released today.

For those who’ve played the game what is the reasoning as to why the empire would issue melee weapons to troopers whose function is reconnaissance / snipers?

Easier to use a pre-existing character model I guess

Annoying thing is that even though the databank entry correctly identifies the Scout Trooper, the subtitles all label them as Storm Troopers, and the first time you come up on a pair of them, one talks about the other being a Storm Trooper...
