Hi all,

I'm under the impression that the on-screen scout pouches are an off white, somewhat tea looking complection. Just looking to update my pouches for accuracy.

Would a tea bath be an appropriate way to colour the white pouches?

If so, is there a preferable method?

Thanks!

Although some have tea bathed their pouches, others have not. It's all personal preference, it is currently not listed as something that needs to be done on the CRL. But as I said earlier it is personal preference.

The originals were white canvas and then weathered later on. So, whether you decide to make another set that is off-white or if you decide to tea-stain them, as long as they look correct, doesn't matter how they get there. ;)

My opinion -- the color differences are just caused by the difference in fabrics.  Canvas tends to be yellower than cotton fabric.  And with age that difference only became more pronounced.   I don't think they were dyed some even color.  The strapping may even have been bone instead of pure white and the weathering handled the rest.

Fabric type, time, and anything the fabric was treated with or exposed to, will all affect how it looks years to decades down the line.
