Painting Shadow scout white

Won a shadow scout from WTF and thinking of painting white to be a biker instead. 

 

Any recommendations on which kind/brand of paint to use?

Sell it and buy a white one. That's the simple answer .

Yeah, while it can be done, you'll likely spend more time and energy on it than it's really worth. 

That, and the fact that you'll need a LOT of coats of white to cover up the black, and even then, you'll have to deal with the possibility of the paint cracking when the armor flexes. 

If you reg on the spec ops board you can likely sell it, then use the funds to buy a biker scout kit.

i heard some people say that if the paint cracks, the black underneath would be cool for battle damage. I'm fine with some cracks and having to occasionally add more paint.

According to the OT costume book, they initially  painted all scout armor Ferrari White before they filmed the clean Scouts in the emperors arrival scene in England  

 

Then when they sent them to Northern California to film on the forest moon of Endor, they weathered them. 

 

“IF” true long as you thoroughly sand down the complete surface, shouldn’t have any cracking. Use conversion varnish. Or take to an automotive paint shop.

Only the helmets were painted gloss Ferrari white , the rest was white abs . 

Instill think this is a bad idea ...sell it !
