TwistedZen
So I did my first troop, and while I did think the building was a bit hot, it wasn't too bad. I sweat straight through my Under Armour, flight suit, flak vest, and onto the shoulder bells. Is that normal?
Shortstack
Everyones body temps inside are different. This kit is slightly toasty but I dont sweat as much as my jawa after a few hours I'll start feeling a funk but also outside is a huge issue lol. If it gets bad install squirrel fans or pop thst lid nice thing about scout life
Chopper
Hey man, yeah, with the exception of that outdoors ellicott city troop last July, I can't recall normally sweating that much. Though normally my set up is just coveralls, flak vest, and bund. I wonder if the under armor is one layer too many?
Stroker
Scout is easy on you in the heat. The helmet makes it great because you can get a nice breeze through the ears. Now talking hot my Kylo and Snowy are toasty. I only troop those two when the weather is on the cooler side.

I'm also am swapping out the helmet padding with hardhat liner, so there should be more airflow too. Even though its padding, the top one was hurting my head A LOT. It felt hard as a rock. Dart
Haven't trooped mine in a bit because of an injury, but I always get a bit toasty, especially in the heat. With regard to your helmet padding, I have a really small amount. I've just got a strip of window insulating foam on top and a couple of blocks at the temples to keep the bucket from rolling around on my head. The more padding you have, the warmer it will be.
Frank75139
Totally not normal you should probably see a doctor. Just kidding. Depending on the area I have the same issue. Most recent troop was inside at a convention and it was hot plus I did a lot of moving around while doing “blast a trooper”. I was shocked how it went through so many layers of cloths. Short, coveralls, vest and onto the armor. I’ve done some outside where it’s slightly breezy and that helpsSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Dmorja
I am always toasty. There are times that the outside of the bund shows the sweat. When I take the bucket off or lift the lid a mini waterfall happens. But, that is when it's 90 to 110 degrees here in CA. I have learned to take water breaks and air out a bit at troops.Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
mmmtoastyboy
Keep the balaclava. If you wear a shirt under your suit then get one of those hanes xtemp ones. I also have xtemp boxers which "help".
TwistedZen
I know the building that I was in has been toasty before, so it might not be good to judge off of that day. But still, with the padding out of my helmet and trying out different/nothing under the flightsuit, I should be better for the next troop. Probably a bit more to find what works just right for me, as I do run a little warm.
greenyone
Find some freezable gel packs that fit within the voids of your chest and back armor for those oppressively hot troops.

I've seen the actual vests that you can wear too. That might not be a bad idea though.
greenyone
My friends and I have a endurance racing car and we use a product called a cool-shirt while doing our 2 hour driving stints. It has veins in the shirt that are hooked up to a 12v pump that sits in a cooler full of ice and water. It's phenomenal!!! They do make more portable but very expensive costume version for film/fx use but you'd have to have a liquid filled pouch hidden somewhere to feed the shirt. Maybe in the back hump? Anyway...It would be a fun project to retro-fit something like that into a costume.....but ice-gel packs are probably the most simple solution.
