My name is adam, but if you like you can call me hendo, i am 38 years old from brisbane and currently serve in the Australian Army. I am brand new to costuming and have taken the first step so i might start small and buy a scout trooper costume.I have always enjoyed star wars since i was a kid growing up and was always fascinated by the empire especially darth vader. I am new this but have seen some of you at supanova conventions etc and thought that looks like something i could get behind and thoroughly support in my down time when i'm not going away from home for long periods. i have currently bought most of my scout trooper outfit from imperial boots just waiting for it to arrive and the helmet armour etc is coming from studio creations which I'm waiting to arrive as well but i thought i would swing by and say hi and introduce myself, if you have any questions feel free to hit me up.

Hey Hendo welcome. When it all comes feel free to start a build thread so if you have any questions along the way we can help. Good luck with the build.

Got any pics? I'm of the school of thought that the codpiece should be attached to the vest, not the cummerbund.  But let's see what you got to work with.   The IB soft goods are still new so I haven't seen many of them yet.

Hi ya Adam, or I should say G'day!

Your local Garrison are the Redbacks? I do know there are a number of biker scouts as I did troop up there many moons ago.

Couple of questions how are your sewing skills?  I can't see but his the bund padded? or its just the fabric.

Did you get how much White Velcro? The pouches do they have clips or velcro on the back.

And are you on the redback forums. I do make these for the local lads here in Melbourne.

Oh and not to worry there are number of us here that have made quite a few of these darn things in our time.

Hey mate,

yeah redback garrison is my local one and I am on the forums 👍. Lol my sewing skills are how should I put it “garbage” ha the bund is just fabric and the white Velcro in the photo is basically what came with the outfit. As for the pouches themselves there’s no Velcro on the back but I can take a photo of the pouch itself after work tomorrow to give you an idea.

ah got ya, there are a number of ways to attach the pouches. (jumping ahead of myself here)

Will give you some options and see which you like.

So no padding between the fabric?

This photo shows you will need some sort of padding to give the effect of the panels

Do the Redbacks have build days? you can check other scouts armour to give you an idea, check on their forums if there is one close to you, Or even a troop where Scouts are attending, seeing it person will help you.

So when you start  we guide you to the correct way of doing it, there are so many builders here you can't go wrong...(famous last words)
