Elephant Knight
Wondering if my belt is sitting to high, and/or is my chest armour sitting too low? I'm a fairly small guy, so the gap between the two should be a bit small, but what I have here seems a bit too small.
BikerScout007
Your belt is sitting in the right place. It should be on your waist, which is where you have it. That chest armor is.....HUGE! Is that WTF?
BikerScout007
Here's a comparison against the screen used. That chest armor is way too large. Sent from my LG-H872 using Tapatalk
Chopper
Yeah that looks like the WTF kit. I'm not trying to be harsh when I say this, but his kit (and especially the chest and back armor) is really suited for larger folks, so it's going to be challenging to get it to fit right with your body size. Elephant Knight
I guess I'm a little short for a stormtrooper, hehe. Thanks for the opinions, regardless.
SeaWaffles
I'm 5' 10" and I have been looking at ways to modify my WTF torso bits to fit better... I'm a skinny guy as well. if you post in the trade forum there might be a someone that is willing to swap parts.

That really shouldn't be an issue. We have Scouts have all sizes. That chest armor is just too big, bottom line. And I don't mean big as in it would be better for a bigger person (it wouldn't be). It's out of proportion to how it should be measuring from top to bottom.
Aliaz
Yeah. It’s way too long. I’m 6 feet and this is my chef Creations chest armor. (Old photo just so the armor is comparable to yours.)Skickat från min iPhone med Tapatalk
762s
you can still get approved with what you have it may not be proportioned to a screen used scout but, that not what basic approval is about! now, from what i see its all fixable ... or at least you can get it looking a little better. one noticeable thing i see is you could stand to loosen the belt alot ... no need to bring it in so tight.if you want to make a change you have several options: ~ you can raise the chest/back armor up so the neck line of the armor sits a few inches from your neck (see the comparison pic bikerscout007 posted above) look up hot water bath over in the fisd forum and reform the shoulder bridges. this will bring the chest armor up a couple inches then you just need to drop your belt abit and your set ~ leave the armor alone, drop your belt down and have 6 inches from the bottom of the armor to the top of your belt ~ order a (smaller)chest and back from a different company whatever you choose you can still get cleared with the armor you have. nothing in the crl says you have to be proportioned just so .... good luck!
BikerScout007
I've reached out to Walt about adjusting the chest armor to make it more in proportion to the screen used. With so many armor makers getting closer and closer to screen accuracy, some armors are starting to stand out as being off. And while basic may be achievable with most kits, Level 2 is a different story.

Just like FISD banned FX armor because it was wildly off, there are a few scout armors that are falling short of the standards we are setting for Lancer. Especially given the better choices we have available to us today. With Walt's kit I'm not sure if it would be possible. If you can't wear your belt on your waist because the chest armor comes down too far, you don't meet level 2 standards. Fortunately I talked to Walt today and he is totally onboard with adjusting his chest piece to make it more screen accurate. Which means more choices for everyone.
