BikerScout007
To apply for the Lancer squad within the 501st Pathfinder Detachment, please follow the steps outlined below: 1. First, you must be approved for the costume you are applying for. If you aren't, get approved through your local Garrison. 2. Post a thread in this section with your specific build details (i.e., title = YourName Lancer Request). Make sure to list the maker of the armor, all parts and pieces in the build, and any other relevant information for your application. 3. Take photos of yourself in costume, front, back and sides (arms up and arms down). Try to take them outside if you can and in front of a plain wall. Make sure that the black details (riding patches, though straps, butt flap) on the coveralls are visible in the photos. Take your time suiting up and get someone to help you if you can. They can tell you if something is not on quite right. Here is a list of fit-and-finish items that slow down Lancer reviews and are easy to fix before taking pictures: Dropboxes are hanging down too low -- top of the dropbox should only be about an inch below the belt; Bicep armor is facing your rear instead of your sides. Rotate it forward; Forearm armor is facing your rear or is tucked inside of your glove. Rotate it so it's facing your sides and rests above the glove; Codpiece is crumpling -- lengthen the cod strap if it is pulling too tight. Codpiece should fit flat against your body and not pull tightly between your legs; Cummerbund should sit just on top of the belt in front and back; Butt patch is too long -- it should stop right where your butt stops; Flak vest sleeves are too long -- they should only protrude about an inch to an inch and a half past the shoulder bells; and Pouches are not spaced out properly -- they should sit in the area between the outermost rib on the bund and the edge of the chest armor. 4. Take pictures of all your gear. Using a ruler in the image is a great help to the team. Make sure the lighting is good. 5. Use a file sharing site to host your photos and post them as images in your application (not links, please). Make sure the images are large enough for the team to view all required details. 6. Only the applicant and Lancer Review Team should comment on your thread. ALL other comments will be removed. 7. The Lancer Review team will be in touch with feedback. 8. Once approved, an announcement to the forum will be made, a Certificate of Achievement will be emailed to you and your action pic will be posted to the Pathfinders Hall of Fame! 9. The LANCER forum badge is an award for your achievement and you will always keep it as long as you remain a member of the Detachment. If you leave the Detachment (by selling your costume and having it removed from your Legion profile or by retiring), your Lancer photo will be moved to the Retired Lancers section and your badge removed from your forum profile. GOOD LUCK! 9
