Teepeethewelder
I have a question about the forearm armor. I got my kit in the mail yesterday, and everything seems to be a good test fit except the forearms. They are slightly too big in diameter at the wrist, and several inches too long (they go from the back of my hand to past the elbow, effectively overlapping the bicep). The CRL states that you must have 12 recessed areas on the armor, but it also states that we may cut down the armor due to size restrictions. Does this mean I may have fewer than twelve recesses as long as it fits me properly?
KOtrooper
I won't answer the twelve recesses as 1) I didn't have to trim that down and 2) that's best answered by your GML (who approves the costume). My forearm diameter was too big too. Instead of trimming it off where the cover strip would be (which would give me a weird twist in the armor) I cut the armor where the raised ridge is, test fit again with the overlap going inside the armor, and then glued it. That way everything is still in proportion and the ridge with the recesses still falls in the same place. I did this with BSP armor. Let me know if that's confusing and I'll try to diagram or find pics.
Teepeethewelder
Which strip is the cover strip? Mine are printed as one piece.
KOtrooper
What armor are you using?Sent from my Moto G (5S) Plus using Tapatalk
Teepeethewelder
I know it’s Sean fields, but not sure what version.
ScaryGuy
Like KOtrooper says I think it's best if you contact the GML of your local garrison about this. The GML is the one who makes this decision. With abs kits there is no other solution then to cut down the forearms, but with 3D printed armor it could have been scaled down before printing so it would fit your forearms. Did you print it yourself or did you buy a printed kit from someone else?
KOtrooper
Sean Fields forearms are pretty much all one piece. I don't think you can trim it down in a way that'll fit you. It won't cut well or be flexible enough to do what needs to be done. Can you reprint?

Everything else has been a great fit so far. I guess I'll have to try to sell them and order new ones; I've spent my entire budget already. KOtrooper
Before you do that - can you post some pictures? Perhaps we can come up with a different solution to help you out.
ScaryGuy
Before you buy something else, just contact the GML and tell about the problem. They are also there to advice with issues like this. Can you post a picture on how they fit you now? That gives a us a better idea what needs to be removed.
ScaryGuy
Another option you have is to cut the forearms to the desired length, then sand down the recessed area and create a new one with the 12 recesses (e.g. with pieces of plastic, wood). It's going to take some effort, but it is not an expensive mod. But again, posting pictures helps to give better advice.
