Nimble
So the sad part about finishing a costume is always realizing the fun of further modification is over. Since picking up a decent ec17 and dlt19x Ive been considering adding more weapons to my scout arsenal for variety. I see on the crl that the only weapons mentioned are the ec17, dlt19, dlt19x and dlt20. I was wondering if some of the additional weapons mentioned on wookiepedia were considered canon? Ive seen some pictures of scouts using e11s and a lengends source also mentiones it. Wookiepedia "battlefront 2" mentions shock grenades and recon droids. Obviously I cant just toss these on a belt but are they recognized as scout weapons even coming from a game or would carrying something not covered in the official crl be too out of costume? Im still trying to navigate the world of canon/ non canon. I know bf2 is considered canon but even then some weapons arent listed in the crl. We are holding at the weapons currently listed in the CRL. If we added every weapon seen in any Scout's hand in any game, comic, toy, novel, etc. the idea of having standards would become meaningless. The weapons we have added were added because they have very strong ties to the Scout. Just like we don't add every costume mishap in the film to the CRL just because it's on screen for half a second. Our job in this Detachment is to put forth the best representation of the costume. If the Scout makes an appearance in a new film and has some new weapons, we'll probably revisit the loadout at some point. But right now, I think we have a pretty good arsenal.
Nimble
Makes sense. Im not asking for everything to be added to the crl though, I was just wondering where the line was between what is still kosher for a scout to carry at an event and what isnt. I have an e11 and want to build a shock grenade for fun, photos, etc. Im just wondering if since scouts do "use" these if thats ok carry at some point at an event or is that a no go? I fully understand the usefullness of crl standards.

And it would also depend on the event as well. If it were an LFL event, I would imagine strict screen accuracy would be needed. At a con? Not so much. Hope this helps!
