Jennk182
Hi Everyone! My name is Jenn and I have just got my armour from Chefs Creations (UK) I am extremely impressed with my armour, I got this pre built for me as I knew I couldn't construct this armour by myself!! I have attached pictures of my armour when I received them, I have now painted the inside of my helmet black. I have some worries about my flight suit, it fits me but I feel that its too baggy at the top, I'll upload pics when I can, any feedback is greatly welcomed. I have uploaded this onto the UK Garrisons forums as well, the site is down for routine maintenance so I haven't had any feedback yet! I am waiting to get my 501st number as well!Vest https://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b169/Jenn_182/IMG_20190122_210202.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b169/Jenn_182/IMG_20190122_210213.jpg Blaster http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b169/Jenn_182/IMG_20190123_195813.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b169/Jenn_182/IMG_20190123_195820.jpg https://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b169/Jenn_182/IMG_20190123_195834.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b169/Jenn_182/IMG_20190123_195838.jpg Flight Suit http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b169/Jenn_182/IMG_20190123_200035.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b169/Jenn_182/IMG_20190123_200041.jpg https://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b169/Jenn_182/IMG_20190123_200053.jpg https://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b169/Jenn_182/IMG_20190123_200102.jpg Forearm Armour https://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b169/Jenn_182/IMG_20190123_200207.jpg Upper Arm Armour https://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b169/Jenn_182/IMG_20190123_200259.jpg Knee Armour https://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b169/Jenn_182/IMG_20190123_200259.jpg Cummerbund https://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b169/Jenn_182/IMG_20190123_200421.jpg Vest Belt https://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b169/Jenn_182/IMG_20190123_200421.jpg Pouches Boots + Holster Chest Armour + Back Armour Shoulder Pads Helmet Detonator
Frank75139
Hey Jenn welcome! You said you didn’t get feedback but are awaiting your numbers. Did you get approved? If that’s the case I wouldn’t worry about the suit, if you need some opinions post some pics of you wearing it and we’ll help out. The armor looks real nice they did a good job on it. Chopper
Jenn, in general everything looks fine. Obviously, the next step will be testing how it fits on you. The only item that stands out to me is the det tubing -- it looks silver. That will likely be fine for basic approval, as the CRL states "Thermal detonator box with short corrugated hose attaches to the back of the belt." However, if you wish to go for level 2, it will need to be medium to light grey in color.

I have made a WIP thread on the UK Garrison page, and I've submitted my number and just waiting to hear back. Been speaking to some members of the FB group Ladies of the Legion as when I am trying my armour on where my cummerbund stops and my front armour starts there is a gap, I've been told to use Velcro or suspenders, so I am going to try this to see if it sorts the problem. I have got foam padding for my helmet (Knee pad inserts!) I am having trouble knowing where to place them, could you give me any pointers? Hi Corey, Many thanks for the feedback, It may be the lighting when I took the picture but if that's the only issue with my armour I will be happy! As for the helmet I have smaller foam pieces in mine velcroed in. It’s a trial and error to see how it fits right. Place it in and see what happens. You might be ok or have to love it forward or back. I just used velcro and if it didn’t work I took that pieces of velcro out. Wasted a lot of velcro but it worked. Chopper
I use velcro to attach my bund to my flak vest. I also attach my cod to the flak vest. There's a whole host of armor attaching tips and tricks in the thread I made here: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/18894-some-tips-for-keeping-your-scout-costume-together-while-trooping/ No need to do it all if you don't want to. Just take the parts that work for you.

Frank75139
Yeah defo going to invest in some velcro!! Do I need to cover my neck for my flightsuit? Most people can get away with the balaclava you’ll have on under the helmet. Personally mine wasn’t covering everything all the time. As I moved it would move around and needed adjustment. I bought a black dicky to cover the neck and keep it uniform. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Chopper
Hi Jenn, your flightsuit should have a "mandarin style collar closure flap covers the neck area" as per the CRL. It's not a difficult mod to do, if your suit doesn't have it already. There are some instructions and photos here on modding the collar: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/19259-undersuit-mods/&tab=comments#comment-174058

I'm hoping my back pockets are still on my flight suit or I don't think I'll have enough fabric to make it!
Chopper
I noticed in the photobucket links that you do have two pockets on your chest? These would be covered by your armor and flak vest anyhow, so if all else fails, you could use the material from one of them for your neck closure. Hi, I've got material from my side pockets that have been sewed up, that I am going to sure, is there a certain way to do this? does it need to be right side over left? The CRL doesnt advise if it matters or not
Chopper
If it's not in the CRL or visual guide, then it'd be hard for someone to gig you on it. However, if you have the option, I'd model it based on how it's set up in the guide, where the flap is on the wearers left and attaches on the wearers right.

If we get new information on it that may change!
Jennk182
Hi, Got my Balaclava from Amazon (cool mesh one, don't fancy a fleece one!!) tried everything on tonight - https://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b169/Jenn_182/IMG_20190204_194406.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b169/Jenn_182/IMG_20190204_194427.jpg Couldn't resist a little outdoor pic! http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b169/Jenn_182/IMG_20190204_194538.jpg
BikerScout007
Looks pretty good! Three things jumped out at me right away Your vest sleeves are too long. Just have them go past the shoulder bell about .5 to 1 inch. With shorter sleeves, you'll be able to pull up your bicep and forearm armor. Codpiece strap is pulling way too tight. It should not be pulling the codpiece between your legs. The codpiece has a looser fit than that. Finally, your dropbox straps are a bit lengthy. The dropboxes sat very close to the belt in the films. They should only hang an inch or two below the belt. Looking good, Scout!

Am I best getting the vest sleeves professionally shortened? I am so worried in case I make a mistake! I am having some issues with my codpiece, the cummerbund slips out from underneath my chest armour so i've Velcrod it but it means that its that high that my codpiece is so high! I rolled my sleeve up into itself and then sewed it down. That way if it got screwed up or I needed to make an adjustment in the future the sleeve would still be there. The height on your codpiece isn't a problem. In fact, I think that and your belt could both be moved up some. You just dont want it pulling so tight against you. The codpiece really rests against the body quite loose. In the film you see it flop around quite a bit when the Scouts are doing various stunts. See if this thread can help: You're really almost there! All of us have to do these "fit and finish" type things when we are at the end. I'm going through that now with my Shoretrooper build. BikerScout007
The length looks a lot better! You should be able to bring up your bicep and forearm armor more on your arm now.
