Chopper
Hi, nice work so far. Before you drill the rotator bolt holes, you should bring the entire visor piece further back, so it sits mostly flush with the dome part of the helmet. Also, try and get the angle from the top portion of the visor to align with the lower/inside portion of the visor. If you reference this side view of an Altmann helmet, the front assembly sits more flush, and it's mostly one angle from the top part of the visor to the bottom face plate portion --

Are there other bolt holes or bolts? This kit only came with 2. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Chopper
The entire faceplate assembly bolts into the dome portion via to two rotator bolts. There aren't any other bolts used to mount the face portion to the visor portion. Helmet assembly for the scout can be very finicky, but you should be able to work the position between the face portion with the top visor, so that they're better aligned and fit more snugly against the dome portion. Once you get the fit set and you're sure everything looks good, then you glue the top visor to the face portion, and then you can mark and drill the holes for the rotator bolts.
Digger
Very nice how you managed to fit the two dome pieces together. I think there's still room to do Chopper's suggestion even if holes are already drilled, because the holes in the visible part (the visor) are good already. On the dome piece: drill a hole further back towards the back of the head. One thing i notice with several finished SC helmets is that when viewed from above, the lid hits the dome piece, if that makes sense... like this SC helmet on the left: Yours is nicely lined up with the dome, which i think isn't normal for SC. (like the altmann on the right lines up nicely) So when you line up the 2 pieces (face and dome), look at the sides and don't worry too much about the top... -Picture reference was taken from the "Ultimate helmet comparison" thread.-
jwnikita
So my husband isGetting very frustrated trying to get the helmet to meet all of the above suggestions. The one “cheek” isn’t as even as the other and he’s trying to get that to line up with everything else. He has the visor aligned with the faceplate well enough but I think he might be trying to get it too perfect. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-3cuywOjv3AMfXDdb0t8aC_OB_uuuGrq Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Frank75139
Take deep breaths, breath in breath out. Those are suggestions, your dealing with plastic, it warps and every piece isn’t perfect no helmets are the same. I think it looks good. My opinion would be do what looks best for the top, the photo you have looks great. I put magnets on my cheek so when I close the lid it holds it shut. That should help correct the cheek not lining up and keep it closed when your wearing it.
jwnikita
Rotator bolt question. The bolts I have with the kit have a square section right up against the flat round bolt head. Does this get pushed through the holes so the bolt is flush to the outside? Does it go through all the layers? https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mYEdnqg7L7sZHJon7yzojleKSrkKv3Qm/view?usp=drivesdkSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
