Chest plate question

So I noticed on some chest armor there's a 'cut' on the bottom edge.  Some have this some don't.  Is this just a design nuance from particular armor makers or?

Will it qualify/disqualify one from basic/lancer approval?  Which is screen accurate, having the cut or not having it?

That's a detail from the film.   It is not a requirement for basic or Lancer.  You are free to add it or not!

And if you do choose to add it yourself, make sure to reinforce the area around the cut with some extra ABS on the inside. That center seam can become a weak point with the cut at the bottom.
