jwnikita Posted December 14, 2018 Posted December 14, 2018 Hi. So, looking at the scout tank and back piece, the small clamps that my husband used on his TK I don't think will reach to where they need to be. Is it worth it to pick up some of the long adjustable clamps to help the E6000 set? Like these https://www.lowes.com/pd/IRWIN-QUICK-GRIP-4-Pack-6-in-Clamps/1000236165 Suggestions?
Digger Posted December 14, 2018 Posted December 14, 2018 The only clamps i have are a set of 6 for 2 bucks... I used a visible rivet on top and bottom to attach the tank to the backpiece. That needs no clamps/waiting time... A bit like this one:Pandatrooper attaching tank&tanktop How would you go ahead and glue them?
Chopper Posted December 14, 2018 Posted December 14, 2018 You shouldn't need to glue the tank onto the back of the armor. The tanks in ROTJ were pretty wobbly and only attached with a loop of elastic. From what I recall, SC has a small bump on the back armor. If you want it more secure, you can use the bump to attach the rivet through the tank topper, tank, and back armor. 2
Retrofire Posted December 14, 2018 Posted December 14, 2018 Chopper is right. I have SC and I didn’t use any glue at all just the two rivet attachments. I made a tab at the top and riveted through the tank topper into it and then riveted the bottom. Over two years and 60+ troops and no issues. 3
BikerScout007 Posted December 15, 2018 Posted December 15, 2018 I do the elastic loop to hold my tank to the back of my armor. It's not an SC kit but that method should work and it is screen accurate. When I am out on troops the tank slides around all over and people try to fix it for me. And I'm like "Don't! Have you seen the movie? Those tanks were all over the place!" 1 1
