Hi. So, looking at the scout tank and back piece, the small clamps that my husband used on his TK I don't think will reach to where they need to be.

Is it worth it to pick up some of the long adjustable clamps to help the E6000 set?

The only clamps i have are a set of 6 for 2 bucks...
I used a visible rivet on top and bottom to attach the tank to the backpiece. That needs no clamps/waiting time...
A bit like this one:

How would you go ahead and glue them?

You shouldn't need to glue the tank onto the back of the armor. The tanks in ROTJ were pretty wobbly and only attached with a loop of elastic.

From what I recall, SC has a small bump on the back armor. If you want it more secure,  you can use the bump to attach the rivet through the tank topper, tank, and back armor.

Chopper is right. I have SC and I didn’t use any glue at all just the two rivet attachments. I made a tab at the top and riveted through the tank topper into it and then riveted the bottom. Over two years and 60+ troops and no issues.

I do the elastic loop to hold my tank to the back of my armor.  It's not an SC kit but that method should work and it is screen accurate.

When I am out on troops the tank slides around all over and people try to fix it for me.  And I'm like "Don't!   Have you seen the movie?  Those tanks were all over the place!"  :D
