Ctschurman
Here is an update on my 90% finished flightsuit. Still need the giant square in the back. A quick run down of how I did this. 1. Right out of the box I turned the flight suit inside out.2. Next I laid a pair of form fitting jeans on top and traced out the slack with a fabric pencil. 3. Next I temporarily pinned and sewed up the pants and tried them on now that they are tailored.4. With the pants right side out I drew out the patches on top of duct tape so I can traced and cut onto the suede.( be sure to draw EXTRA fabric so it can be sewn in later). 5. Lastly I opened up the temporary inseam and permanently glued down the fabric patches and then permanently sewn up the suit. NO visible stitch lines.Clean inseamComfy coveralls I also secured stitched on one loop on each sleeve cuff. You simply slip your thumbs and now when you put on your gloves your sleeves won’t untuck from the gloves. Oh yeah. I also removed all of the external pockets and made a collar using the extra fabric. Later on I will attach Velcro to the joints where the armor plates can’t slip off. And maybe I’ll have my wife take pictures of me modeling it for you all too. Thanks to bikerscout007 for the awesome tutorial! Ctschurman
Got a chance to try on the flightsuit today. I did a bit more work on it too. I re-enforced the stitching along the inseam and waist wear I tailored it all. And I attached some Velcro to draw the mud flap down the back. If I take it in anymore I think I’ll look like I’m wearing skinny jeans. I think it looks pretty good. Any thoughts or critiques? Frank75139
Perfect fit. Nice job on the tailoring. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ctschurman
Does anyone else get impatient or too excited waiting for their orders to ship? Ahh I’m too excited. My soft goods will ship from steph imperial outfitters. She sent pics and they look great! Tom from TDK props is printing my DLT-19x and will be here in mid to late January. 2019 I’ll finally troop with cloud city garrison in Portland OR! Anyone from around that area online?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ctschurman
Wish I had an update for you all. Vendors are taking longer than I hoped. BUT! Who would be interested in a TDK props DLT-19X sniper rifle build thread? It ships from Australia this Monday. Keep an eye out for that build in the weapons page of the forum. Ctschurman
Been a long time since I’ve posted. Guess I forgot about documenting hahaha. Seen one build I guess you’ve seen them all. I got a new bin for my armor. Picked up a husky bin from homedepot and slowly pimping it out. I also and 95% done with my DLT-19x. Trying to match my weathering to the EA battlefront II in game model. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
SeaWaffles
Awesome idea tracing jeans to tailor the flight suit!! I'm out here on the remote coast line where a good tailor costs more than the rest of the flight suit.. did you tailor the top by tracing a sweater? Ctschurman
Actually I haven’t really tailor the top yet. I did take in the back by folding in even bits of fabric. I’ll IM you later. The sleeves can be done the same way. Just make sure to sew to the original seam in the pit or you will look like ralphie’s little brother from chistmas story. Ctschurman
I am doing more test fitting on my scout. Trimmed my chest and back to make it more form fitting and I need to lower my belt boxes. Are my pouches too big? I got them from a vendor and they are 7” tall. Should I remake them my self to 6” spec?By the way adding Velcro to keep the chest from slipping inside the cummerbund is really helpful. Aliaz
Pouches are too big. Dropboxes look fine to me.Skickat från min iPhone med Tapatalk

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I'd say you can probably salvage the boxes by taking and inch out of the top, but you'll probably have to re-make the flap. You mentioned velcro for the chest/bund....I'd like to see photos on how you did that,

Ctschurman
I have recently completed the basic requirements for my scout! I have. Lot of tweaking to do such as fix that darn cod piece. Anyone and everyone please tell me what I should tweak to make my scout better! Don’t hold backSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Whiskey
Looks good. Maybe backfill the cod with foam to stiffin it up to you don’t looks like you’re sportin a toe Maybe be fill in you pouches as well Correct me if I’m wrong, but does you bund have 4 ribs? Also the pouches should be about 1” from the outer most stitching on the ribs of your bund
greenyone
Not sure if you are doing your own soft parts/sewing, but Pandatrooper's WIP came in handy for the anti-cameltoe cod for me. He added a piece of thin plastic between layers of the lower cod padding to help it keep it's shape. Mine is not approved yet, but I followed suit and did the same thing with a piece of scrap HIPS plastic. I'm sure you could achieve the same thing with something else laying around the house. Like maybe a piece of bucket plastic or something.
Ctschurman
Thanks for the tips everyone. I am actually going to rebuild my cummerbund set. I am going to make it a bit bigger length and height wise. The set I ordered from Steph was okay but the pouch Velcro was too close to the ribs and the measurements I gave her must not have been too accurate. Oh well. She still does great work. Ctschurman
I just remade my codpiece and cummerbund. Test fitting feels great. I can bend over and move comfortably. . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
