condor Posted January 5, 2019 Posted January 5, 2019 Quote How far are you from completing yours? I literally just started. I was cleaning up the trim lines on the ABS the other day and saw the Level 2 requirement for rounded corners. It's my first build so I am quite excited to learn from everyone! 1

I am very close to submitting for approval. I have an X-wing pilot suit, this will be my first for 501st. 1
Hikuro1983 Posted January 6, 2019 Posted January 6, 2019 Good luck to you both. I rounded the corners on mine, subtle, felt better too lemme tell ya. Didn't like them poking my biceps at all. 2
ScottF Posted January 12, 2019 Author Posted January 12, 2019 What is a good way to connect the chest/back pieces? I've tried a few different straps, but i can't get my hands in there to tighten things up. My arms just don't bend that way.
Chopper Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Yeah, that can be a tough spot. Sometimes I can do it myself, sometimes I need to ask someone for help. I've seen a few ways of closing the side strapping -- (pardon the terrible drawing in the attachment, but it'll hopefully make more sense than me writing it) For convenience. the first way in the drawing is probably the easiest. Regardless of what works best for you, I usually leave one side strapped up and secured once everything is fitted and adjusted. That way I only have to put my arm and head through, and then connect one side when I put my chest armor on. 1
Aliaz Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 That works The first way is how I do it. I also have a piece of elastic sewn between the straps at the back to connect them and have some give when strapping up. Then I have one loop and one hook velcro sewn at the front. It pulls through the hole in the front and wraps back on itself. Works great IMO and I can easily get it on and adjust it myself. Skickat från min iPhone med Tapatalk 2
Chopper Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Thanks, Max, for the photos. My armor isn't accessible at the moment :) 1
