Shoulder Bridge Covers question

Hi everyone, before I start, I shame myself for not building a kit but I just don't have time to build a kit again thought I'd go with one already done and just adjust it from there lol! To be fair I have built one in the past a SC kit with Moncal v2 helmet but sold it as it was just too old and yellowing... I will build a kit one day as these are fun to build haha. Anyway, I had a question about the shoulder bridge covers. So I recently bought cheesewhoopys old armor from him, and I have to make an adjustment to the bridge that connects the back and chest together over the shoulders to lower it a bit to avoid having a gap between my cummerbund and the armor, feels like it sits too high . The new adjustment leaves a 4" inch gap between the chest and back that is gonna be quite a big bridge cover... Will it be acceptable having a bridge cover that huge?

Also I'm aware of my cruddy pouches lol! When I got my first kit approved which was what I had gotten into the 501st with it was back in 2011. Man that was so long ago... Got a new set coming in soon :)

Yeah man, that's a pretty big gap between the chest and back armor. A 4" covering is gonna be a pretty wide cover strip. Hopefully we can find a way to improve it a bit.

From the side shot, can you mark where the front piece ends? It looks really far past your shoulder, but that might also be the selfie distortion.

Hey, I replied to your pm as well. Sorry it didn’t fit you right 😕 I was just giving it some thought, and I think the best thing would be to put a piece of plastic between that gap. Cut it to the right size and fit it between there, then place the 1” cover in the center. Walmart sells “For sale” and “Keep out” signs that are made of a styrene type plastic and are white on the back. They’re super flexible and only cost $2 I think. Something like that should work.
