New Facebook Page

Hey Pathfinders!

Let's all give a big hand to our PR Officer, Daniel "Nexous" Craig for launching a new home page for the Detachment.  When the term started, I gave Daniel the big task of getting control of our social media back, as Jim was the only admin for our page and we were unable to get in through his account.  After months of following every known protocol and going back and forth with Facebook support, we were unable to get them to turn over access of the page to us.

Daniel has remedied this by launching a new page, which can be found here:
https://www.facebook.com/Official501stPathfinders/

Going forward, all our social media outreach will be done through this page.  The old page will not be updated, nor will we be able to respond to messages sent to that page for much longer.  So please update your bookmarks!

A couple more notes.  We are in the final phases of the migration, which we hope to complete by the end of the month.  At that point, the new URL for the Detachment will be "www.501stpathfinders.com".  The splash page is already set up over there and will currently bring you to bikerscout.net.   But not for much longer!

Tapatalk support will be restored AFTER we migrate.   The Tapatalk account was also something only Jim had access to, so we were not able to update it for bikerscout.net once we upgraded the forum to version 4.3.4.   And although I really prefer the mobile version of the updated forum to Tapatalk, I know many of you like to have all your forums in one place.   We aim to get that set back up again as soon as possible!

So once again, a round of applause for Daniel, Drew Hannah, Steve Leahy, and Josh Rhoads, for helping us get through these thick trees and back to the bunker safely.

Thank you everyone for your patience, this has been a major task that all of us have been working on since the beginning...

With the new Facebook page we'll be able to add command staff members (which was not previously possible due to the Admin situation)... and with the extra hands on deck we'll be able to get appropriate support out to those having forum issues or any general questions. Beforehand it was a cumbersome game of telephone reading someones issues or question and then forwarding it to someone and then copy / pasting that response... as you can tell, fun ;)

Great effort.  Is a new Instagram to come or is that staying the same?

Instagram will remain, I currently have full control of that. Facebook was the only of the two affected by the "Single Admin" situation -- we have two admins now so in the event one is sick or unable to do something the other may handle it. Moving forward this will be the format.
