Flak Vest Length?

Recommended Posts

So most of the pics I've seen of the vest, the length looks really short, almost like a crop top.

Do most of you not tuck these into your cummerbund? I would think tucking them into the cummerbund would make things nicer/tighter. Is it supposed to be tucked or sit just above the cummerbund or?

Even the short ones tuck into the cummerbund, which is why they are made short. A longer vest just means more fabric stacking on fabric.

Unless you are wearing your bund too low?

Mine is on the longer side, but it's not even that long. I attach the bund onto the section that overlaps with velcro.

Mines on the short side. I used the T-shirt tutorial for it. It meets the top of bund but sits above it since my bund is Velcro'd to my flight suit. It sits in place pretty good, doesn't need to be secured to anything.

Mine goes to my belly button. That's long enough that it won't show below the 'bund but stays put at the top. I've had a shorter vest in the past and even though my newer one has more fabric, I prefer the way it fits.
