We cannot reserve the PT tag specifically, and designations are at the discretion of the LMO team, but I will see what I can do when we are ready to submit a finished product.

Awesome, that's all we ask. This guy seems unique enough to deserve his own designation.

Some minor wording things that I can see. Edits/suggestions in red:

Helmet is two-toned: the dome, visor and face plate are gloss white, along with the ear and the portion of the tubes running from just past the foremost tube stripe to the front of the helmet. The rest of the helmet is satin black (Change wording to “semi-gloss”).

--------------------------------

Gloves

  • Gloves are black with white palm, thumb and forefinger.
  • Gloves extend underneath the forearm armor.

--------------------------------

  • A two inch textile (should this be webbing or fabric?) strap passes through these slits, ending with a buckle on either side of the chest armor

(I think this needs to be defined. When I was a GML, I had a member attempt to get his scout approved by making straps from fabric, instead of using webbing.)

-------------------------------

  • There is a leather or leather-style pouch with a single press stud (button snap?) and no visible stitching located front-right wearer's side of the belt.
  • Back right of belt has a white box about the size of cellphone case (rough size estimate? Android or iPhone?)

------------------------------

  • Shin armors are mirror images of each other (Reword - Shin armor is identical on both sides)

Could the specific materials used be a lvl 2 requirement? Do we have plans for lvl 2?

Posted

Here's a detail no one seems to have mentioned yet.

The neck piece on this armour only connects to the chest.

From these pics theres a clear separation between the neck part and the back plate with the undersuit material showing through, meaning that the neck floats at the back without being attached to it.

I know these are pics of a figure but given how precise the hot toys figure seems to be compared to the pics of the screen used suit I'd be tempted to say its pretty accurate here.

Another small detail, these wee ovoid notches on the leading edge of the hand plate and gauntlets.

Similar to what's on the TFA hand plates.

Well, I've seen this collar separation before at DeathTrooper and ShoreTrooper action figures by HotToys. Seems like they somehow have production limitations, which leads them to separate collars. As you know for real armor kits - all collars are always integrated into back plate. So I have modeled mine armor same way as Death/Shore trooper's.

As for palm plate - yes, I have that inlay at the front of the plate and rounded corners. But PT plates has different part to highlight.

Hope this helps, guys! :)

Oh I see.

I wasn't aware of that about the other hot toys figures.

Thats a shame, I liked the idea of the floating collar

Thanks for the clarification, Denis :)

Absolutely. And we are going to hold level 2 for the future after the basic CRL is done. I think we all need more experience with the costume before making level 2 standards

We're not going to get too specific with the details of the armor on the CRL. The CRL is really supposed to be a guide for the costumer to put his/her kit together. It's not supposed to be instructions to armor makers on how to craft armor. The ones that look at the photos and do the best job replicating what they see will be the ones that sell the most kits! :D

As an LMO, I can assure this is EXACTLY what the LMO team will say to EVERY new CRL that passes our way for approval. If you want more specific details, they need to be lvl 2 or 3

Gotcha, I'll keep it more general in future.

Well, they aren't identical, one is the opposite of the other. Which is why I put mirror image. Unless there's a better way to say that!

Looks really good, Denis. Only suggestion I would make is the front ab piece is showing too many "vents" or "ribs" or whatever that section is called. All the photos and even the toy only show about 6 vents.

It may be that part is too long? Or maybe it can be worn higher and the belt pulled up a bit.

I would maybe word it to allow a minimum number of the lines when standing to allow some "wiggle room" for the taller troopers. Again, we are working to remove the exacting details from lvl 1. The specific number and length can be lvl 2+

Oh for sure, Chris. that was more a note on the construction of the armor as opposed to being CRL related.

Thanks for sharp eyes, guys, and constructive notes!

I was thinking about that ribs as going from the main area to the very top edge, so I thought that I will make them unified on height and not too high. As I thought it will unify the look for both - tall and not so tall troopers.

So I agree to you both)))

I think we should put something kinda "There are horizontal ribs, going up from the AB-plate main plane area to the top of the center part of the AB-Plate. At least 6 ribs shall be visible."

Maybe the correction of "Not more than 6 ribs shall be visible. " shall be added as a quote of perfection for Lvl2.

Thank you once again for your notes, will try to make this kit perfect!!!

BR

Denis

Nice pic of the Black Series fig. Really highlights the shin how the side blends into the calf piece and it’s not just a Shoretrooper shin slapped on.
