Pandatrooper Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 (edited) Great info and article here on the original Biker Scout hold out blaster. Good photos too! Read the article and scroll down as this is mainly about Han Solos blaster but there is excellent info and reference for the holdout blaster. http://www.originalprop.com/blog/2018/04/26/exclusive-details-photos-original-han-solo-blaster-movie-prop-from-return-of-the-jedi-to-be-sold-by-juliens-auctions-in-june/ “One of the most interesting stories that James told me was with regards to the Scout Trooper / Biker Scout hold out blaster. One of these props is included in the auction, and in going through the paperwork and meeting notes, it sounded as though the original idea was to modify an existing “real world†pistol as had been done with most of the blasters in the prior films. Instead what was used was quite different. James said that the UK prop department had run out of time, so several of the local crew in the U.S. made wood mock ups of different designs for the Biker Scout blaster, and painted them black. George Lucas looked at them and choose the one that James had made, and it was sent to the creature shop where they made a mold and cast them.†Edited February 26, 2019 by 762s added pics to the op 8
Chopper Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 NICE! Great find Panda. I wonder what happened to the hero version of the scout blaster? Probably still at the Lucasfilm Archives.

Answers a lot of questions about the barrel and scope
Strider Posted April 27, 2018 Posted April 27, 2018 The new pics are amazing! I wish someone could lay their hands on an original and cast it 1
ShaunPug Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 My question is which one of us is going to win the auction so we can make these available...haha 1
Chopper Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 I wonder if RS Props will try for it? They've already got an original helmet. 1
ShaunPug Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 Considering it's part of the Han Solo blaster auction and the last one of those sold for $200,000 it's unlikely haha Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
Darth Voorhees Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 EFX has one, they were supposedly going to include a cast with one of the scout helmet offerings, but who knows when that will come to fruition! lol
