CRL specifically states that there are 6 stitch lines which create 5 raised ribs. I've seen costumes with 6 raised sections and in fact the cummerbund I purchase has 6 raised sections. Has this been recently revised? Just want to be correct.

If you want to be correct, follow the current CRL. I believe the change was made a few years ago based on new evidence. For awhile, it was optional, but it was changed to 5 raised ribs.

Please listen to Mickey and follow the CRL. I'm a GML and I just had to fail a candidate with six ribs than the five called out. It will save you having to rework it later.

Thanks for the input. I unfortunately purchased the soft goods for me and my daughter several years ago. I finished her costume, got tied up on other projects and recently went back to finish mine. Time to order a new one.

You can always remove the stitches and just sew new ones!

So I did a silly thing. In one of the celebration events in Orlando they had a biker scout on display from the LFL archives. The cummerbund has 5 stitches and appears to terminate at the belt. The diaper appears to be completely separate. Looking through one of my costuming books, I found the same appearance. The cumberbund stops at the belt.

Having a separate bund and cod is correct and the bund does indeed stop at the belt!

Here's a photo from one of the screen used scout costumes, where you can see it pretty clearly

It's an easy thing to get caught on. I've been trying my darnedest to stamp out some of the bad habits from over the years.
