You're looking for 2" nylon webbing for the back of the belt. I did some poking around a bit to see what's available in Canada and I'm not having a whole lot of hits either -- at least nothing that wouldn't need to be shipped from the US.

You're not going to need a lot, do any other scouts in the garrison have leftovers? Which maker are you getting your armor from? If you're using SC, he sends the strapping with the kit.

You might want to try searching for polypro webbing and see if it's easier to get. It's a bit cheaper than nylon and not as heavy.

Worst case scenario, if you can't find anything, go ahead send me a note. I can probably dig up some extra webbing in my box o' parts.

I got the kit second hand and there was 2†polyester webbing, but I wanted to go for the cotton webbing. My problem is how much I’ll need - I’m not skinny :(.

The webbing that closes the belt in the back is synthetic. The cotton webbing is for the dropboxes and chest armor straps and that's 1.5 inches.

Shannon also when your looking on line for the webbing.

Punch in "Cotton Canvas webbing " white 1.5 " I found a few on ebay.

If you just use the wording cotton webbing that thin ribbon tape will come up.

I'm using this build thread: http://www.studiocreations.com/howto/bikerscout/bscout_assembly.html

It shows the utility belt as being completely around the waist using 2" cotton webbing - it attaches the plastic parts on the front to the 2" webbing. It seemed a bit more secure - what do you think?

For whatever reason the site is not opening for me, but that's funny because when I ordered my SC kit way back when they sent 2 inch polypro webbing for their belt ;)

Also, we recommend synthetic webbing for the belt closure because that's what it looks like here:

You can use cotton, but if you compare the two side by side in this pic you can see that the belt closure webbing looks more like nylon or polypro than the dropbox straps.

Okay I was able to look at this on my phone. I wouldn't recommend doing it this way. It seems overly complicated and wouldn't give a screen accurate result. The closure in the back should be Velcro, not a parachute clip.

But a lot of the info on their build instructions is outdated. That's what we are here for!bd3145f2adb037d1784b8681394bd2e3.jpg

My best advice is to hit up Fabricland. I've found lots of 2" nylon webbing and some good 1.5" webbing that is perfect. If you need some help with it, lemme know and I can pick some up for you.
