Gruntsky
Howdy guys, just wondering if someone in the States can confirm that this cord is the type I need to upgrade my thermal detonator to Lancer level. Trying to get my kit up to scratch and shoot for Lancer, but living in Australia means some of the parts are hard to access. I've found this cable on Amazon that ships to Australia, but just want to double check that it's the right type before paying for shipping to Australia! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000KKLOLO/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 Cheers! BikerScout007
Any 16 gauge extension cord should do. Maybe find one in white so it's easier to paint? https://www.amazon.com/GE-12-Feet-Indoor-Extension-51954/dp/B00178HJ6C/ref=sr_1_4?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1519743873&sr=1-4&keywords=white+extension+cord
Stroker
The old yellowish white RJ 11 telephone wire looks damn good wrapped around the TD. That's what I used.

Yeah I suspect they used some sort of gray/beige cord and didn't bother painting it

That's what I used. Pretty sure we don't have that here, but I'll see if I can find some somewhere before ordering the stuff that bikerscout007 suggested. Thanks everyone for the help!

Hossmaz
When you wrap the cable around, do you glue it with hot glue or CA?
Retrofire
When you wrap the cable around, do you glue it with hot glue or CA?I used CA to set the initial wrap then came back with a drop of plastic epoxy to hold it tight. Make sure you make an allowance for the TD end caps. Do a test fit with the cable and caps before committing. Keep in mind that wrapped TDs can be heavy so you'll want to beef up the clips holding it to your belt. ShaunPug
Make sure the cable is one that can be split. I'm not sure about the cable that you listed but it won't have the correct shape unless it's split. RJ 11 is too thick and too round. Check out my thread on the armor forum for more details.
