Aliaz
That is the strap for the side connections on the chest/back armor. It wraps around inside the back armor. I did mine the same way but put a piece of elastic in the middle to make it more flexible.
Jakeputt
Why did they make it wrap all the way around instead of just connect it on the sides? Teach me your sith ways.

Aliaz
Why did they make it wrap all the way around instead of just connect it on the sides? Teach me your sith ways. It was recommended to me by Chef, who I bought my armor from. I think it works well, and it's easier that cutting the straps and affixing them to the inside of the armor IMO. Jakeputt
This is a good thread for completing your belt. Just let us know what questions you have and we’ll be happy to help. Kay, so my question is that I know that I need to wrap the 2" nylon around to the back of the plastic. I have seen some threads that have actually brought the strap forward and had it affixed into the plastic by velcro to relieve some of the stress off of the rivets that are cosmetically used to connect the strap on the back to the plastic belt. I am also wondering where exactly I want to attach the back end of the drop box straps too? How will I tell how far back I will want to attach my straps. Aliaz
How far forward in the front armor do you attach the straps? It attaches to itself. You put the strap through the slot in the front armor, then it wraps back around and attaches to the inside of the strap using velcro. Jakeputt
http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=17305 digging this tutorial. Some of the strap sizes aren't up to date but I've got the right sizes. The shoulder bridge is kind of confusing. Can someone help me figure out
Chopper
Does this thread help you out with the shoulder bridges covers and attachment? http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=18957&hl=&fromsearch=

Chopper
Yep, that'll work! I did it that way myself.
762s
different ways to go about it.. i did velcro on the armor bridge. and then sewed togethered a strip of velcro for the armor to keep it secured and in place then... i sewed the opposite side of the velcro to the fabric bridge and wrapped it around with more velcro on the fabirc to attach itself too
Jakeputt
Black vs white, sticky back vs sew on, industrial strength vs regular. So many velcro straps. I am guessing colors match with colors and anything with sticky back goes on plastic and always use sew on with fabrics, do I ever want to put glue down before putting the sticky back Velcro down? And always use industrial strength? Is there anything I missed?

762s
It looks like your shoulder bell zip tie is stuck between the pieces of your velcroed shoulder bridge material is that correct? i cut a small slit in the fabric and used fray check to stop the fabric from fraying/separating and then slid the zipties through. Jakeputt
Looking at feedback about where I need to adjust the straps to make my armor fit where it is supposed too and where to adjust the thigh boxes. I think that I just need to rotate them slightly to get them to fit closer to my thigh area. Also trying to figure out the insertion point to the back of the thigh boxes. (I understand that I still need to adjust my cummerbund and cod piece its on the bucket list)

Is there anything I missed? i tried to sew with sticky back velcro ... not good for the needle, it breaks and gets gummed up. i threw away all my sticky velcro and went with all sew ... even for plastic areas, i just used e6000 to attach the velcro. i also, didnt like the way the sticky back velcro had little attachment to itself when velcro'd together ... it was very easy to peel the separate parts of the velcro away from each other. (I understand that I still need to adjust my cummerbund and cod piece its on the bucket list) bring the back armor up ... and drop your front armor a little. use some tape for the bride area, you made need to trim a little of the shoulder bridge armor off to get them to line up properly. you belt will also come up alot ... it does not sit on your hips bring the drop boxes around to the sides some more and youll want about a 2" gap from belt to drop box for the belt attachment and strap for the rear heres how i did mine. i got the belt velcrod in place in the back. glued velcro on the inside of the drop boxes and sewed velcro to the end of the straps. riveted the strap to the outside of the velcro area on the belt with the velcro on the ends of the drop box strap and on the inside of the drop boxes ... it makes things alot easier to adjust. BikerScout007
Make sure you put the belt on your waist, which is a few inches north of where you have it. Once you do that, you'll probably say "my bund sticks out from under my belt!" Right, it's too long. 8-9 inches in length is the money. Thigh boxes are a bit low. The boxes sit quite close to the belt in the film.
