sibbel29
well, there is something about the symmetry of these helmets that is off ... all my kits i have built need different work on the right side to get them to close properly, some very little work others needed major work. check out my build thread and youll see a heat method i use to get the visor to close. you can also, adjust the bolt hole in the helmet to get a better side profile line. looking good Hahahaha .. you know bro.. a couple of hours I woke up in the middle of the night with the solution and that is the second thing you are saying: adjusting the bolthole.. and thats what I am going to do!!! thanks so much for your input😎😎😎😎 Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
sibbel29
update!! did some rework on the leftside of the faceplate with polyester putty and fix the returnedge and I am stoked... very happy with the outcome! I need to trim a little bit of the visor so I won’t scrape the paint of the dome and sand it all the way.. Then I have to make an appointment with the carbodyshop to spraypaint it, make a mold for painting the snout black, painting the snoutpiece and installing the visor.. the end is near and I can almost start on my Strider armor😎😎😎😎 Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
762s
nice, good profile line too! i had to bondo that same area on a couple of my builds. if your going to make a template for the snout i suggest not using blue painters tape ... i have not had good luck with it and there was always some black paint bleed through. i found a tape called frogtape and i got the yellow version they offer ... there was no black paint bleed through with this tape. looking forward to seeing this finished ... are you going to weather it?
sibbel29
thanks bro!! I am soooo stoked😎 ahh thanks, yeah, I have to find the same kind of tape here.. thanks for the pointer! no I am keeping it semi gloss white , personally, not a big fan of weathered armor and bucket, so keeping it clean when it’s finished, I can work on my new Strider Armor.. a scout is never done!! sibbel29
Installed the chincup, put some Gaffers tape behind the earopenings and placed the helmetpadding. painted the snoutpiece grey and the mic black and need to glue the thing on the snout. I shaped the lense, but not completely satisfied, need some more work. the last step will be putting some stickers on the bucket, then it’s finished. The end is near??? pics will be posted asap ( can’t upload them now)

sibbel29
one last update:after wearing my RS bucket I changed the liner. I installed the screenaccurate 3M welding liner ( sold here by Kevin Weir) in my scoutbucket after having issues with the linercushions I installed earlier. This liner is way more comfortable than the black liner RS provides with the bucket kit. It’s amazing!Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
Thax
So what's holding your liner in? Looks like 2 rivets?
sibbel29
So what's holding your liner in? Looks like 2 rivets? indeed bro, I drilled two holes in the helmet, cut off the connection piece of the innerliner and drilled a hole in them too. I put it together using rivets, works perfectly and even though some scouts have comfort issues with the innerliner, it suits me fine!please note : I am using the screen accurate innerliner sold by KW and not the innerliner provided by RS with the kit.good luck and if you have any questions, let me know!!Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
