Cummerbund 6 stitch spacing

Recommended Posts

It's not specified because we wanted to allow some flexibility for different sized Scouts. An inch seems the norm

When we created our cummerbunds, we started with 1-1/4" spacing. Cut some 1-1/4" painters tape to get straight lines and sew accordingly. After its sewn, it will reduce down to a perfect inch.

Keep in mind, we are using double bedding padding to get the puffy look. Good luckl

That's a great idea with the tape. I was able to use the 1 inch spacing marked in pencil and looks good for my size.

The key was to measure, mark, try on, try on again, and try on one more time before sewing! LOL

All sewn and looks great.

Thanks for the help!

As I am moving on to making/finishing the pouches.... are you guys using Velcro on the back side of the pouches to also connect to the bund or just the top alone where it connects and is under the chest piece?

I guess what I'm asking is if they "hang" or attach to the cummerbund?

From what I can see with photos film/trooping shots, they "hang" from the top.

They look better if they hang. And, you're correct--they do hang on screen.

In the movie, the pouches are sewn to the cummerbund. There is a 2 inch connection flap that is sewn down, starting at the top of the bund.

You can see how it's connected pretty well here

I velcro my pouches to my bund so it's easier to remove them for washing

Scout007- Yep, that’s what I’m planning to do as well. Thanks.

And I went with 6x5x2 size pouches.

Boots, jumpsuit, bund and pouches done. Working on vest/cod but need to wait on SC to arrive and get it started.

Thanks for the help guys.
