Cummerbund material

I was reviewing the Lancer tutorial about mercerized “polished cotton†so I went to Jo Ann fabric and the people didn’t really know what it was. I decided to just look for the brightest white 100% cotton. There was also a off-white fabric too. Attached are the pictures of fabric, was looking for verification.

I also picked up the batting.

"Polished cotton" was how the fabric was described in the Costumes book. It's cotton with a bit of a shine created during the weaving process. It is not your only choice for Lancer however. Many folks like to use duck cloth or canvas, although I personally think that's a bit heavy. What you picked up looks fine for a cummerbund.

You won't need the off white stuff. If you choose to go that route, it's better to dye your pouches and cotton strapping together so it all matches.

Understood. Will have to come back to you about the dyeing process later and what to use.
