Rob787 Posted November 17, 2017 Posted November 17, 2017 hello everyone so i decided to start my wip so here it goes armor / helmet is SC already have soft parts will post a pic later , just finished my helmet but have to re work it one of the side did not match up so i have to add some sintra inside and lower a tad to see if it can be flushed. painted black cut out the ear sides and added magnets to hold will update after fix. 3
762s Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 you know .. lining the visor up has been a problem with the handful of rs kits i have done too! seems the premade/premarked holes are fubar .. although the rs is abit different than the sc, i add pvc to the inside too, to adjust that visor and actually, it helps stiffen the area around the hole on the helmet. looks good man! maybe, look into getting the correct bolt keep us posted
Digger Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 Oh yes, i can see the side doesn't match entirely, but the dome seems to fit properly, was that alot of work? Overall the helmet looks ace already. Good luck with the rest!
Rob787 Posted November 21, 2017 Author Posted November 21, 2017 The dome was not to bad to put together just made some guidelines an rechecked a few times. I was able to purchase the correct bolts so hopefully with the new bolts and a bit of cintra I can fix the visor.
Rob787 Posted December 6, 2017 Author Posted December 6, 2017 so i got the correct bolts from a forum seller , and a bit of sintra and patience boom aligned 2
Rob787 Posted December 23, 2017 Author Posted December 23, 2017 well almost all the armor is done , still need to attache the pouches to the cummerbund and the boxes to the belt in the back . and currently 3d printing the hold out blaster. and i made a mistake on belt i did 2 rivets instead of 1 arhhggg my question will it not pass the crl for scout tropper? or do i have to have the 1 rivet 1
Chopper Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 A single rivet is a Level 2 Lancer requirement. You should be fine for basic clearance with 2 rivets.
762s Posted December 25, 2017 Posted December 25, 2017 you should be able to fix the 2(4) holes fairly easy, some plastic epoxie and little white touch up paint on the repaired holes and i believe you should be good to go for lancer. when you drill the rivets out, grab them from the back side with some pliers or vise grips so the topside rivet doesnt spin and create a bigger hole in the plastic good luck and the build looks good .. keep us posted!
Rob787 Posted December 27, 2017 Author Posted December 27, 2017 Thank you for the info guys. so i have a small 3d printer and was able to cut into a few pieces a hold out blaster model and after a good 2 days of printing it came out pretty good now a bit of elbow grease 1
Rob787 Posted January 2, 2018 Author Posted January 2, 2018 test fit , still have to hammer out a few things like the pouch in front my side boxes are not even , cummerbund is drooping a bit and also belt it a bit loose and i might take the padding of my helmet so it will drop a bit more and hide my chin and loosen up the tapered cod so a few adjustment here and there i think.
Rob787 Posted January 4, 2018 Author Posted January 4, 2018 started the weathering process ... lesson learned less is more with scout trooper armor , did a first attempt and it was to much so i tone it down and i think they look reasonably weatherd.
762s Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 neat weathering! couple things coming from my viewpoint ... i would weather the td tube . that looks to be the the only thing you didnt weather i would lighten up the weathering on the right side 7 vents on the back of the helmet just so, it doesnt look to much like the barcode on the left good job and good luck
Rob787 Posted January 23, 2018 Author Posted January 23, 2018 thanks for the extra eyes , this is before i did the recommended weathering , i will post up the pics of the suggestion thank you . Got my numbers
