Hey all, first timer here. I'm just this side of broke, but I'm determined. I have the soft components planned out to the best degree I can. Easy enough to get a balaclava and flight suit, and you fine folks have plenty of info on making the vest, boots, cod piece, and cumberbund/pouches. My problem comes in when armor is concerned. I have found a tutorial for cosplay armor using buckets/55 gallon drums and a propane torch or heat gun, buckets I can get for near free. My current standby is to freehand and reference the project. I was wondering if there were any templates or rough dimensions I can have make the materials from?

i would think someone around here knows where some measurements for armor are.

for helmets here is a couple links:

~ studio creations posted this about a don post ..

~ we have some pics here in the gallery

and well, if you go back to the first link from studio creations ... they have alot of measurements posted for armor for the diy builders .. just click the links on the right side ;)

hope that helps!

You, good sir, are a hero. That goes a long way on the helmet. Have you seen anything for the chest/back plate/tank (the search function failed me here)?

The armor makers aren't in the habit of giving away the dimensions of their stuff because they are in the business of selling armor.

I would get with a Scout in your future Garrison and try to work out the dimensions with him/her.

For a starting build, acceptable will do fine by me. There's no way I'm going to get lancer certified on my first major costuming build. I'll work up, even piece by piece of I have to, until my build is that quality. I'm going to be learning and taking baby steps until then. Thank you all. Keep an eye out in wiped for my eventual thread, once I have my materials.
