cpthoff73
Hello Pathfinders. I am new to this detachment, usually I stick with my fellow TIE Pilots, but I am looking to expand my horizons, on the ground. I am looking to get some new armor and want to go scout. I am looking for recommendations on which armor is the best (comparing the actual armor (durability and accuracy), customer wait time, etc). I am also looking for recommendations on who to get all the soft parts and boots from. Lastly, look for recommendations on where to get a blaster. Some facts about me, 5'11", 210 lbs. I have looked at some of the thread and have noticed that a lot of people like SC, but was wondering about Moncal, and walts trooper factory. I reached out to Eric at SC earlier today and he wrote back almost immediately, so SC has already made a good impression on me. Lastly, are their any blinky lights that I need to worry about? What about fans and com system in the bucket? Would like any and all thoughts from you folks who have been trooping the scout for a while. Cheers, Travis TI-5265 "Sin"
Chopper
A lot of scouts have used SC (myself included). He's very popular for armor, though since you're Europe based, you might want to check out Chef as well. Moncal does make great armor but the wait times are in years, so I'd stay away from that one unless you have infinite patience. This thread is a pretty good comparison of armor types: http://forum.bikersc...l=&fromsearch=1 For blasters, I've got a comparison of a few here: http://forum.bikersc...l=&fromsearch=1 Personally, I prefer the DVH blaster, due to the integrated magnets. When you get 5 posts you should be able to see the vendor forum, so that'll give you a few more avenues to explore for your kit.
Aliaz
I’ll second that recommendation for both Chef armor and DVH blaster.

kayelbe
Looks like one last question unanswered, so I'll jump in! Fans are generally not a necessity with the scout bucket. The design lends itself to natural ventilation. I live in the Phoenix, Arizona Metro area, and have trooped two summers here with no need for bucket fans. In fact, all the soft armor layers were the real heat trap.

cpthoff73
Thanks for the advice, I truly appreciate it. I'm looking to start my build sooner than later. I will look into Chef armor. Why do some of you feel he is better than SC? Cheers, Travis TI-5265 "Sin"

SC armor is very popular because it ships quick and their customer service is top notch, but they are not as accurate. SirDiddimus
Some great info in this thread. I think it's finally time to branch out of my TK, since it hurts my back to wear for long anymore.
Imperial Speedster
Hi Travis, Am bout 85% complete on my Scot build. Agree, SC a Good source for armour, mine arrived last month and am Most Impressed with Quality and Service. Wampawear.com are a Very Good source for 'Biker Scout Race Suit' as well as the Scout Gloves, many Scouts use these. Creativeartshop.com is a Good choice for 'Flak Vest' and Cummerbund. Myself have recently received my DVH Pistol and I'm glad I went through Darh Vorhees as it is a Very good quality.
