JBar
I've looked around and I'm not too sure what the best method is to put on the decals for my helmet, chest armor, tank, etc. My sc kit came with some stickers which I can use, but I saw that Panda Trooper used sign vinyl for the tank and grey chest decal. I've also seen some people use paint on various parts. I don't mind using stickers, but should I be worried about a "toy" look to the armor using stickers? JBar
The original scout helmet used decals. http://www.starwarsh...oper_helmet.htm Ok cool, good to know. Were those decals like what you get from a model or miniature kit where they are water transfer? Because they look very flush against the armor. Would the sc stickers be too thick or am I just overthinking it?
Chopper
The suggestion on starwarshelmets is that they're likely waterslide decals, but I haven't seen the original prop, so that's as much as I can say. I don't think anyone offers waterslide decals for the helmet, though if you had the means you could probably print a set on your own. Personally, I used trooperbay's biker scout helmet decal set and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
762s
if you look at the link chopper posted: in the 9th picture which is a close up of the face(picture before the motorcycle) .. look at the center 3 bars above the lens .. the discoloration between the bars are a dead giveaway for being a water slide decal. rs prop masters has water slide decals with there kits .. maybe try and ask them, see if you can buy a set? your best bet would be to contact them on facebook .. andrea over there has been an huge help with some small extras i requested with my rs kits. trooperbays stuff is a very good option .. i have used them on a couple don post reworks. stickers yes, but the are good and they give you a couple different sizes for the snout detail and 2 styles for the fish hook logo the trooperbays barcode is thinner bars/smaller length/tighter grouping than the rs version heres some reference pics of troopebay compared to rs prop masters ~ i dont have the 3 bars above the lens to compare to as i had an error with my trooperbay decal when installing it and it had gotten ruined. trooper bay is the white square .. rs on the blue paper ~ you can see the size difference ~ the trooper bay doesnt have the center trianlges clipped left corner like the rs and original helmet has .. but, with a good sharp knife you can fix that ~ the center doesnt touch the bottom of the logo on the trooperbay like the rs and original helmet does the rs snout is smaller compared to the snout decal wich the don post needs .. some helmets may need the larger snout some may not. ~ trooper bay sends both sizes the vent is slightly wider on the trooper bay but, the black details are the same ~ the height is the same on both trooperbay and rs ~ the left side black lines of the rs decal are kinda wonky ... hahaha the barcode .. like i said above is thinner bars/smaller length/tighter grouping on the trooperbay hope that helps .. and wish you luck if you decide to contact rs prop masters
JBar
Update, I ended up using the standard SC stickers and I'm actually pretty impressed. They adhere very well and don't stick out noticeably at all. I'm happy with the results.
