Digger
This is it.. My BBB day has come! AAAAH! After all the BBB topics i've gone through, my mind pictured a HUGE box that would barely fit in the mailtruck. this baby is just 14 inches deep, and everything actually fits inside. But after considering renaming it Small Brown Box... what is inside is actually very daunting (and it took a Big Bite out of Bankaccount anyhow.) Soft parts are still a long way from being anywhere, until i find the leather for the suit and boots. In the meantime. let's have a look at the ABS plastics SC has sent all the way across the pond.

Digger
Alrighty, after trying to cough out my own lungs and failing, i have decided to stop being ill and getting some stuff done. i've decided to take the forum's hand and let these threads be my guide. Special thanks to Strider's Pandatrooper's and Spike's actually everyone who posted in the past months aswell. This is an SC. Yes i am that thin. luckily i found pandatrooper's tutorial on cutting this part shorter. I tried adjusting the corners of pauldrons using a heatgun and failed already, which i expected. I have two left hands sometimes., not gonna post pictures i want to fix it first xD what bothers me here is this The whole chest and back armor have returnedges on screen and well... the SC kit one does not. although i have to add most pieces do have return edges, glad about that I really want to do this so i am ordering a Sealing Iron from the UK. Apparently in Holland those things are more rare than dinosaurs. Even my neighbour, who actually IS a dinosaur in remote controlled speedboat contests, he says nobody uses that sort of stuff around here. and then he advised some stuff so hopeless i dont even remember what it was. maybe he said use a heatgun i really dont remember.. If you do return edges though. How do you do that in the strap slits? That seems near impossible
Digger
First time using the heatgun and it didn't work out too well. One of these bits was deformed, but after a few days i made that almost invisible. One of them has been cut at the edges and one has not (yet). KNEES: Quite happy how they turned out. They fit nice. I read that people use velcro to stick these babies to the undersuit at knee level. I'l do that too. What's the best place to put the velcro in the kneecap? Digger
Question: The tank top from SC has the little round button greebly melded in the whole thing, but in Pandatrooper's thread he cut the button out so it could be repositioned (it needs to shift a bit to the left so there's opening on both sides). here's Pandatroopers WiP photo: Here's how my tank top looks right now: How does one go ahead and cut that button out? what tool can i use for that? This seems pretty tough... Thanks for any input!
Stroker
If it was me I'd leave it. A Dremel is what ya need if you decide to cut it out.
star-trooper
For the knee armour, the top strap should be thinner. Correct me if I am wrong.
Digger
For the knee armour, the top strap should be thinner. Correct me if I am wrong. ah yeah good eye! The picture is misleading, but you are right. the top is thin, but it comes so close to the camera it seems bigger, like a big nose pressing into the cam.. Right now the top strap is 15mm (0.7") instead of lancer = 12mm (0.5") the bottom one is 1inch wide instead of lancer = 5/8". (i bought the wrong sizes and thought 'meh let's see what happens'. What's the best place to put the velcro in the kneecap? I put a strip of loop side 2" width Velcro oriented vertically inside the centerline of the knee armor.
Stroker
I wouldn't use a Dremel, cut off wheels are too thick and the milling/drill bits take to much material off. I'd go for a coping saw or jewellers saw. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk Depends how good one is with his hands and how you do it. Digger
Aaaaallright! after a short break, i'm back! There's a whole lot of stuff i have done that i am not yet satisfied with, like the pouches are not how they should be. and the codpiece is attached to the belt, as i didn't have flakshirt to attach it to at the time. I'm happy about the DVH blaster though: it's DVH with a little metal paint to make it look less rubber-y Now i'm about to start the patches on the flightsuit but i'm worried maybe the pants are too wide/baggy. What do you think?
Chopper
I think your coveralls look pretty good, dude. You might want to take the legs in slightly more, but you're certainly in the right ballpark. Are they baggy behind the knee armor elastic?
BikerScout007
They'll probably come in a bit just through the whole process of adding all the patches. There won't be much to take in there.
Digger
holy bejees those patches are a tough nut to crack! One TB suit and i'l go from being a sewing rookie to Imperial Ace... AND il swear off sewing for the rest of this century. Yes they're a little baggy behind the knees, i opened the outside legs to get those patches on so i might aswell take it in a little. Affraid i look too thin, because i'm a thin guy.
Chopper
Yeah man, the riding patches were one of the toughest parts when I did my undersuit, so I can sympathize. Are you hand sewing or using a machine? We're here if you need a progress check.

Digger
it's on haha it really is on the pants! I followed Panda's version with the folded edges, so it really is 2 layers of thick leather on top of the pants. Sewingmachine lost a needle along the way and i bent another one trying to do the thickest parts by hand. the front looks ok i think, but the backside is probably a bit too low so proud of my little baby muhahaha! There's a Comic con today, perfect time to test if everything stays put. And somebody can take proper pictures there, because these selfies just won't do xD
Digger
Yes that was fun! i met a bunch of real pathfinders and learned how they keep their helmets open. twisting the bolts much tighter, which might not work with helmets with returnedges at the back of the vizor I'm on the right. What do you see that needs fixin?

High-fiving kids that had the guts to come closer that's just awesome. I guess i'l go for basic first, but i want it to look perfect, so in time everything that needs fixin will get new attention. -After this comicon i added length to my Codpiece so now there is no black between bund and belt. (When i made that part i didn't have a flakvest yet so i just attached it to the belt instead.)
