BuckeyeTrooper
OK, I feel like an idiot, but I'm trying to find some real black suede for the flap and riding patches....anyone have a good source? Mostly just finding faux suede or genuine suede in bulk. Tried Tandy, but they had several options and I wasn't sure which to go for, if any. Haven't had any issue finding anything else, just this! Thanks in advance for the help!
haribon72
Tandy Leather is where we bought ours. You can buy online.
Smiling Fox
Search eBay. I bought a used women's suede jacket for about $10. I cut it up and had plenty of suede left over.

BikerScout007
If the jacket doesn't work out, try this: https://www.tandyleather.com/en/product/glazed-pig-lining

I was looking at those, but wasn't sure which style to go with on Tandy. This helps!
BikerScout007
Whatever the thinnest pig suede you can get. You don't want to put your sewing machine through too much stress!
Dart
You're generally going for a garment-weight leather, so about 1.5-2oz.
gmrhodes13
First one I purchased some from a local leather shop, the second one I was lucky enough to find a suede jacket in a second hand store, worked out well. Good luck with the hunting
Mr.Mike
I got a sizable piece off flea-bay for 20 bucks. It will be plenty for the riding patches and fart flap.
