To paint or not to paint

Quick question. I got the kit from SC and as I'm putting it together I notice that there are some decals. Question is, is it better to use the decals? Or is it better to paint in the details? Thanks in advance!

Decals only. No need to paint.

There are certain decals that are requirements for Level 2

Yeah, the painting thing is really one of the vast differences for the Scout. While many other costumes have painted details, the Scout actually used waterslide decals.
