"Wow, the last of our dickey Beer Helmets are now complete. These have been a project and a half. I am really happy to complete the run. Now it is done we may consider offering a few kits. If anyone is interested in a kit please drop me an email to studio@rspropmasters.com with Scout Kit in the subject line."

Yikes! That's pretty pricey for a kit.

Like the LW bucket, will this become the new "white whale" once it's gone?

Wow! £300 including shipping.

Is it worth it?

Which is more accurate, LW or RS scount bucket?

For a fan made helmet, LW - to me - is the gold standard. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe RS had access to a production made bucket for theirs, so you could argue that it's truly "screen accurate" versus LW.

That being said, I have it on good authority that the parts are nearly interchangeable between LW and RS, which is a credit to the amazing work John does. Either one would be a gem.

From RS on Facebook this morning:

"Scout Helmet KIt. Price is £300 and includes shipping anywhere. (price includes local taxes for Europe) Kit includes everything required to complete, except paint. We can add extra ABS if you want to make a filling paste with acetone, however flexible car filler is recommended. A full video of the assembly process will be shared on Facebook.

Please use this link to secure one of these kits. They ship on the 28th. We will close out the run when out of stock, or Friday 25th. Please be quick to avoid disappointment.

Well, not quite but John's helmet is pretty close for sure.

300,- is indeed ridiculously expensive but the market makes the price. The other downside is that these helmets are very difficult to build. I would say most people are bound to mess it up on their first try (I know I did with my first helmets!). This is a almost a full 2-day build.

LW and RS parts will fit one another.

The RS is a bit larger. The faceplate of the LW might 'somewhat' fit to the RS Dome but certainly not perfectly. Though I don't think anyone would plan a mash-up. lol.

Lol well that's what I was lead to believe early on from the folks who received a helmet from wave 1. Still believe I'll like my LW better. The RS will be a display piece only.

Dunno what shipping times have been averaging, but wanted to share mine. Ordered first kit on Sept 16 and received in Texas on the 26th. Second kit I ordered only took 6 days. Not too shabby.

Well they missed my Dickey Beer helmet. So I'm the last to get a completed helmet. They found my order under a stack of papers with my plaque. Just wondering what number it'll be.

on the kits ... for an ... "Available now, no waiting for you Kit"

for me:

~ first kit -- ordered on august 26th and it showed up on august 31st -- thats decent

~ second kit -- ordered on the september 8th and it showed up on september 20th -- not so good

ugh! sorry to hear that!

here we are ordering kits and completing them and you still have not got your 1 completed helmet purchased when ..? a year ago?

you should ask for another helmet -- or a kit ;)

all in all im pretty happy with them i explain ...

so, the first helmet kit came with a serial number sticker on the authenticity folder and 1 serial number sticker on the box. i used the box serial number sticker for my helmet, see my build thread.

well, i recieved the 2nd kit and there was only 1 serial number sticker on the authenticity folder and no serial number sticker on the box.

since i wanted to have a serial number sticker on the helmet to match the authenticity folder i contacted them to see if there was a way to get another serial number sticker.

at first they said it would cost like $8 to get 1 sticker .. i said ok. next i got another message asking to verify the number i wanted.

i never paid a penny and then ..... that week i got 5 serial number stickers for both helmets :)

so,

~ 1 sticker went on the back of the blue authenticity paperwork (on both)

~ 1 sticker went on the parts list checklist (on both)

~ 1 sticker was added to the inside of the visor (on both helmets)

~ 1 sticker added in the 2nd helmets dome

2 extra stickers for my first helmet

1 extra sticker for my 2nd helmet

actually, i think all the certification/authenticity paperwork should all match in the first place ..

~ what good is a serial number on a black folder?

~ what good is a blue certificate of authenticity if it doesnt have serial number to go with it?

either way im all set now .. certs, folder, paperwork, helmets all match now ;)

i thought that was pretty cool of them to accommodate a customer they way they did!

Hi there guys

I'm a brand new member.... http://forum.bikersc...=0

I have bought the RS helmet kit on the understanding that it is the only lid actually from a screen used source (at least until efx comes through lol, at a higher pricepoint as well).

I'm looking for a decent build guide that would be apropriate for the RS and plan to post my progress If anyone is interested.

I'm not a total newb but would rather do my research thourghly before I do any more, at the mo its just trimmed :)

Yeah right, as if they're not going to re-stock them ;-)

i guess, time will tell ... but...

before their site said "2 left" .. at the end of last week i ordered 2 more from them.

i received an email from them stating that my kits would be manufactured next week.

so, with that being said/known i see they dont have a stock pile ready to ship out.

as well, they do say it is a "strictly limited edition"

some of their other products that where limited have not been released again.

if they are truly limited and with the efx limited edition scout helmets ... i guess, i wonder who has the rights to next the batch of scout helmets?

can rs/efx keep rolling out helmets month after month? do they have to buy the rights to do another run? when they have the rights to do a run are they limited to how many they can produce?

i would love to know how the rights/quantities work for prop makers like them when working with lineage stuff.

as well, its not a nice thing to do to your customers claiming something is limited then go and release it later .. how would those 20 tk's helmet owners feel if they see rs release their limited edition tk helmets again or even the 200 signature helmet owners? im sure most wouldnt be happy.

guess like i started out saying here ..time will tell.
