Max's Sci-fi Creation Shop Soft Parts

I was wondering if anyone is having issues getting replies or orders from Max's Sci-fi Creation Shop. I order back in March paid the extra for expedited delivery was hoping to get it done by Celebration. I ended up not arriving till early July, when I got it it was the wrong size the pant leg wasn't sewed and he had alternated the pattern for the cod piece. So I sent it back, they said they would fix it and send it back but here is early August still no reply from them I have reached out several times facebook and emails with no reply's. I am worried now that I wont get the soft parts back and will be out 700.00 because I purchased two sets, not sure what to do any advise would be great or if anyone knows what is going?

It unfortunately seems like Max's has been having a lot of issues lately. A number of us have had similar experiences. I ended up getting my soft goods from a different vendor in the end.

 

"I have to chime in and say that I had similar issues with Max's Sci Fi as well. While they did come in a timely manner, my soft goods were all massively larger than what I indicated on the sizing chart. I'm not sure if they got mixed up with another order or what, but I still haven't received the replacement items yet. Eventually I just went with another vendor for soft goods and need to get a refund from Max's."

Order two flight suit, two cumberbun, two flak vests, 2 pairs of pouches, 2 cod pieces. Doing two builds one for me and one for the Mrs.

There's also KriptonTop on Etsy. Top quality goods, but just make sure you get it shipped FedEx as opposed to Bolivian Post.

I have heard good things and bad thing but mostly good from KriptonTop was looking at his page yesterday and considering ordering from them. If you do please let me know how it went really don't want to fork out more $$ just get another lose.

My transaction with kriptontop went a-ok. Everything was sized correctly and fit perfectly. Just make sure you select fedex shipping and it shouldn't take too long to get to you.

Cool guess I'll just take the lose from Max and go with KriptonTop. Very frustrating

Armor piece are all done for both me and my wife just need the soft parts once I have shouldn't take me more than a day to finish it up. Got a response back from max last week Wednesday that he was shipping Thursday, asked for a tracking number and yet to get that tomorrow will be a week since he said he shipped it. So frustrating will not order from them again.

FYI, got a message that Max's is shipping all outstanding orders this week and then closing up shop. Hopefully everyone will get their outstanding goods.

hmm, i have been in talks with him for several days now and nothing was mentioned of them closing .. and all his responses to me where actually quite fast.

 

they are modifying a suit for me .. and atm, they are custom making a flight suit for another customer

 

they gave me a time frame of 8-10 weeks so, it seems they might be under a heavy workload with that type of time frame.

yes, all the vendor talks i read are confusing on here .. im not sure if its impatient customers, real life problems on the vendor side and theyd rather not mention there life to a customer, overload of work orders on vendors, grumpy complaining customers and so and so on. theres tons of reasons things could not "be on time" or "wrong" in the customers eyes.

 

i have had several chats with several vendors and only 1 has not replied back for a week .. even sent him a seperate message, it was stilll unread on the day i deleted it a week later seeing him active. im not mad at that vendor as things change, people are diffferent and real life issues happen. its whatever, ill find someone else to work with.

 

 

im not even sure if bsn could help the vendor situation ...

and im really not sure what could be done to help both parties, vendor and customer

Thought I would provide an update, I finally got the parts in from Max's Sci-Fi Shop and very disappointed in the quality for the price you pay. I was expecting this nice flight suit that they show off on their picture page along with accurate piece that's not what I ended up getting.

 

The flight suit isn't a nice looking flight suit it's just the Red Kap that they sewed the leather on the pockets are not sewn shut on them either so when you bend down you can see the white inside of the pockets.

The cod piece is very narrow nothing which is shown on there page.

I would not recommend purchasing from them, considering sending it back but afraid that I wouldn't see it again yet to get a response as to why the parts are different. Reached out to a friend in the garrison that is going to help me fix those few parts and I am hoping with a lot of softeners that the flight suit will eventually become soft so I can wear it with out have to wear and undersuit under as the fabric is very itchy.

 

So fairly close to having it complete and getting approved as you can see.

Well it looks like I got scammed, put my order in for the all the soft parts and boots and paid up front - nice as could be and they gave me an 8 week window for it to be finished if nothing major came up and 14 weeks if something happened.

 

I build models on commission for a major manufacturer so I know what its like to have a nagging customer so I just let them get on and do their stuff. after 8 weeks I sent a mail and they told me they were running behind so I thanked them knowing this might be the case and then after 12 weeks did the same....

 

I got a response back on September 7th basically

 

"Hello this is actually Gabes wife. He's gonna be having surgery in 2 weeks and we have been busy doing preop stuff. We are sorry the wait has been long. We are backed up and kinda stressed with our current situation. I am almost done with your order. We have also stopped taking orders over a month ago to catch up. We are doing the best we can with our current state. Again we are sorry for the delay I'll get on top of it asap"

 

So today I thought I would follow up - well the shops gone from the FB page and no way to contact them. Kiss goodbye to my money!
