BuckeyeTK
Looking for some tips / pics from anyone who may have installed the 3M helmet liner in their SC helmet. I ordered mine through through the forum assuming the mounting brackets would just line up with the visor bolts... boy was I wrong! Lol I'm tinkering with a few ideas on how to modify this so it can be mounted in my helmet and would love to hear from anyone else who has done this successfully. Smiling Fox
I suppose you could glue some nuts onto the inside of the helmet then use really short bolts to secure it. I use MICH helmet pads for mine. I secure them with velcro. They are adjustable and removable and extremely comfortable. That would be my first recommendation for the inside.
BuckeyeTK
I suppose you could glue some nuts onto the inside of the helmet then use really short bolts to secure it. I use MICH helmet pads for mine. I secure them with velcro. They are adjustable and removable and extremely comfortable. That would be my first recommendation for the inside. I have pads in my TK bucket and like them very much, however I was thinking the headband might be a better method in the TB due to the flip up visor. I already spent the money on the headband kit, hate to waste it and spend more money on pads. ...I was thinking along the lines of mounting some type of hardware farther back in the helmet to secure the liner the way it is made. Another thought was to drill out the rivets on those mounting tabs and remount them in a way that might still allow me to use the visor bolts. Third option would be to try and rig some type of Velcro mounting system to hold it in place. I will keep brainstorming, just hoping someone who has already tackled this obstacle will stumble across the thread lol
Stroker
I've seen a lot of scouts glue the middle of the band down and use it that way without any problems. About where you have the tape is where to glue it.

Bubonos
SC included padding that I used for my bucket and they work well for me. I have thought of using a hard hat liner for it. I use those for other helmets like my mando buckets. I just use e6000 and tape them into place until the glue sets. Then I may add a glue border around the seams in hopes it holds up. So far it's been successful but I admit a pain in the ass job. I can see a scout bucket easier to do this with because you can lift the face for work room inside. Bubonos
You can buy these at any army surplus. But SC included them in my kit. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J120A using Tapatalk
