ShaunPug
Hey everyone, for those wondering about what an RS looks like up close I uploaded a video review on my Youtube. Feel free to check it out if you're curious and let me know how to fix my hairline crack *cry*.

Kind of a bummer but an easy switch. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

tk 7261
They said they might never produce them again? Man why do all the people with these awesome molds always hold out. EFX scout, EFX ANH hero tk, now RS scout. What a bummer. Good video by the way!

EFX scout, EFX ANH hero tk, now RS scout. What a bummer. Good video by the way! Thanks! They had said at one time that they underestimated how difficult they are to produce. I would say that if they do open them up for purchasecagain that it might be in kit form. I agree though, a production mold is priceless to our community. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk I would think that those bolds came with the inaccurate headband they installed. Too bad they didn't do more research since the correct headbands are still available. Also they cut the slits on the chin cup holder in the wrong place. I actually sent them a note but they didn't care.

I asked them on FB and they said they can look at doing Another run once everyone that ordered them the first time around has gotten their helmets. So fingers crossed.

Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk I'll PM you buddy. You'll need to drill through the old rivets to remove them. The tricky part is not to melt the surrounding ABS while drilling ;-)
Eyeslave
Nice video. Looks sweet. Bad luck on the crack. Maybe the .mm of the abs is the problem? As you said it was light it might suggest that the abs is thin. Not sure what thickness they used on the film. My LW is certainly not light and could take a good beatin Interested in a few things. Do we know the accurate size of the joiner of the visor. ( Above the lenses ) . It looks quite big on the RS. Also where the faceplate lines up with the sides of the helmet looks off on the RS helmets I have seen. ( I need to study that myself . Not an expert ) Agree on the chin cup. Sweet weathering on the suit btw. Love it

The ABS thickness as far as I know is the same as the originals. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
ShaunPug
I think the faceplate lines up well though....ive seen some that don't however. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
Eyeslave
Thanks Shaun. Yes I have seen some that don't looked lined up as well. It would be cool to see some close up pics as well. Inside as well for the ocd minded

NegativeEleven
posted this in the sizing thread, but I think it's more relevant here... ------------------------- I didn't know RS made a scout. i just acquired a complete Boba Fett from RS, and I am shocked at how thin the vac-formed parts are. There's also a few really obvious things that don't match the 501st CRL. I know RS is well respected for making accurate TK's, but I won't give them the benefit of the doubt on anything else. Eyeslave
The RS TK and biker lid are cast from originals so it's as close as you can get. The TK is beautiful. The biker lid is also beautiful but has some assembly issues. The originals were probably made from a thinner plastic than we expect, but were made for film use and not up to the heavy trooping we do. I don't know the lineage of the fett armor though. Even knowing about all the issues people are having as well as my own problems with my helmet, I would still buy it again! Jagjaguwar
For better or worse, I guess, these recent helmets look a lot better than the Wave 1 examples I have seen (or at least the Wave 1 helmet I received.) Seems they've upgraded the shoddy packing materials mine arrived in, too. No exaggeration, it looked as though my helmets (all 3 of them: the 1st that was cracked in transit, the 2nd that had subpar weathering that I rejected, and the 3rd that was somehow the exact same helmet as the #2, with exact same paint job I had asked be fixed) were just wrapped loosely in a single piece of bubble wrap, and placed in boxes that half-filled with packing peanuts, the majority of which came to rest inside the helmet and thus offered no protection whatsoever. Hopefully these do get offered again, I think they're nice lids, in spite of my less than stellar personal experience. More people should get to have one. edit: would be curious to hear whether any Wave 1 orders got that little info booklet. Didn't get one of those. Im sorry to hear about another story of disappointment. From what I understand my helmet was part of wave 2... ShaunPug
I think it would be in their best interest to offer the helmets as kits. They could offer them at an affordable price and it would finally allow for Scouts to get accurate helmets. Here's to hoping Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

ShaunPug
I know recasting is frowned upon, but making slight changes in material, and making kits, we could get these out to more people and collectively bring up the detachments level of accuracy. I don't know if "beautiful" is the word I would use. I just sold a friend's RS TK for him and it took a while to find a buyer who was familiar enough with the original to know that the bumps are screen accurate. It's beautiful to us, but not necessarily to the general public. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk
