StormyStormtrooper Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 Hey, guys.I am in the process of making a vacuum former for making some scout armor. The only major concern I have is the Knee Armour. It seems like something that would be very tricky to mold, being an odd shape with many idents. I was wondering, do any of you have any ideas or tips for making a mold to vacuum form the knee armor? Thanks!
spike Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 you could use a block of wood as a base, as Stroker said, use clay ,to get the rough shape you want, do a thin vac form over that, fill that with plaster then work that to final shape. when you have that do another thinnish form and fill that with epoxy for your final mold. good luck with it
Pandatrooper Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 The photos are slightly dated and there's more accurate ones, but the SC method is a valid way to start. http://www.studiocreations.com/HOWTO/bikerscout/thekneepadsboots.html 1
