I've asked this on the 501st reddit a while ago but i figured it'd be better to ask here since most of you are scout troopers, is it difficult to wear glasstes under the helmet? I know there are different types of helemts, I've read that SC is one of the smaller ones. For those of you who wear glasses what helmet do you use.

I've also noticed when people ask about helmets they tend to put height (idk why) but I'm 6 ft. if that helps.

It's going to depend on your head size and how big the helmet is. I know a lot of folks who wear their glasses without any issues. Some with better vision remove them and deal with the blurry vision. I wear contacts but if I didn't I would get some ranger glasses or sports glasses with elastic versus the ear pieces. They fit tight to your head and you don't need to worry about needing a lot of extra room.

Depends on helmet, I know a few members who have removed the arms and use elastic to hold the lens on to their heads. Another has his lens attached to the inside of the helmet. What every works ;)

As to your height question, not all helmets are the same size, and if you are on the short side, a bigger helmet will look like a bobblehead, and vice versa.

I have worn sunglasses under my bucket at many troops. That Louisiana Sun can be hot and bright and the tented lense doesn't always cut it.

I wore glasses in my KS with no problems. I think it's only an issue if you really fill up the helmet.

Another vote for Alt. It was one of the reasons I looked for one (that, plus I have a big head!).

Somewhere on here was a thread or two discussing the sizes; someone had collected some numbers, if that helps. That was what I used to make the decision.

One issue with glasses is the fogging - but there are other threads on that :)

I wear glasses with my KS helmet and I have tried on an SC with no issue. I had to do a little work with padding and fan in my KS to make it comfortable cause the lens did press on glasses and give me a sore nose after 30-45 minutes at a few troops. It's fine now, although I wouldn't recommend KS helmets for other reasons.

I can wear glasses in my Altmann's. Its a bit tight and i have to take them off to get the helmet on, but i've got a large head. SO take that what's it worth.

I can ay this. Spike's are worth the wait.
