Dauitsch
Hy guys, Since I decided to stick to my detachment for the next costume, it turned of course out to become a Shoretrooper (aiming for SL and lvl 2)... Already ordered my bucket from Sidejoeys here in Germany who already has some of his great models out there and so far I think I will go for a BSP armor kit. The question why I write this here, would be that I am curious to learn about the quality and Detachment perception of the "Shore combo" offer at imperialboots in terms of soft parts. Since I can get it shipped directly within the US to relatives in SD and then get it brought over to Germany I am quite attracted by this offer, any experiences or verdictions about it? cheers! ST-16390
I have the Imperial Boots undershirt as well and it is very good quality. I don't have the shore trooper boots from IB but I do have shadowtrooper boots from them and they are also very good quality. Shipping is rather expensive but they have been reliable. MikeB
Looking at shore trooper items from Imperial Boots. I see the discussion here dates back three years ago, it now being October, 2020. Wondering if the boots, pants, undershirt and other items sold for shore trooper by IB is still up to 501st standards? Thank you for your help. The shirt is great value, good quality ribs and if you replace the velcro in the back with a zipper that zips down even approvable for level 2. The mesh in the arm pits is black, but we currently have no requirement that it must be grey. The pants are thin, making them look a little baggy, but good enough for basic approval. Gloves, approvable for level 2. They are thinner then the Endor Finders gloves (which have a liner), making them more comfortable to wear in my opinion. I did had issues with the seam of the elastic wrist band getting loose, so I had to fix that a few times. Boots, approvable for basic (level 2 must be Orca Bays). If you plan to do a lot of trooping I recommend getting the Orca Bays, they are a lot more comfortable to wear. The soles are much higher quality. And also more accurate 😉. Belt, approvable but not that great. The stitching is too thick.

I have The DarkSide Closet's pants and they were fine for Level 2. FYI, we have a vendor list for the Shoretrooper:
jean
Hi everyone, I am new here and working on my shoretrooper squad leader. I would like to ask you some questions regarding the soft parts (after getting some info) if it is possible. I saw that Imperial Boots just updated their combo and the shirt and neck seal with the zip that goes up-down seems to be fine. What do you think about?. I also wanted to ask you about the boots for level 2. I understand that the standard must be Orca Bay, but they are not easy to get. I also compared the new ones from IB with the Orca Bay (and they look like a very good replica), Could the IB boots qualify for level 2?. Regarding the belt, the option would be the one from imperial issue and the pant from the darkside closet Do you have any info about a place to get a Kama?. I think that will ask darkside closet too. Thank you for your help!! Jean

Thank you for your help!! Jean Hi Jean, Yes, IB has updated their shirt. Some nice improvements there, I wish they had used grey mesh under the arm pits instead of black, but overall still a good shirt. This one is fine for level 2. For level 2 we do require the original Orca Bay boots with the logo imprinted on the boot side, so the IB boots do not qualify for level 2. I think darkside closet offers kama’s too. I got mine from Tony Lenci, he might be a bit hard to contact though. He doesn’t really check the forums anymore.

Thank you for your help!! Jean I just picked up the new shirt from IB, so I wanted to add one detail-- the neckseal that comes with the shirt is one size fits all. In order to properly fit me, I had to remove a total of 4" from the circumference. It's still a great set, just keep in mind that you may need to alter the neckseal yourself, or take it to a tailor to get adjusted.
jean
Thank you very much for your info, very helpful. I just asked Dark side closet and they also have the Kama, so they have the shirt, pants and Kama and all of them will be level 2. Have to try to find the Orca bay boots now. Thanks again Jean
