Gruntsky
Howdy guys. I'm in the slow process of putting together my first hard armour costume for the 501st and had a question I was hoping some of the more experienced members might be able to help with. I've removed both of the rear pockets (managing not to rip the fabric or myself!) and found that the knife/pen pocket on the right leg is stitched into the leg seam. Do you guys open the leg seam and remove it and then restitch the leg or do you cut the pocket off as close to the seam as possible? I seem to remember seeing a thread saying that some people cut open the leg to sew the riding patches on, but can't find it now... Thanks! kayelbe
I opened the leg. I had to take it in to fit more snug, anyway. Also, it helps when sewing the suede to have the legs opened up.
Chunk
Use a seamripper open up the leg, remove the utility pocket & sew closed.
