I would say it would be difficult to either match the colours, or apply a top colour.

There are coatings available for use with rubber but finding the right colour could be difficult.

Most paints will crack over time so I don't think that is an option.

You could try using a marker pen, test on a small area, with the right colour you may be able to match the two.

Personally I think it would be easier to start with a new pair of boots.

Go to Walmart & buy some arts & craft acrylic paint .50-$1.99 Find a brown color you like or mix a couple to get the desired color. Acrylic paint flexes when dry & you WILL NOT get any cracking. I've made a few pairs of boots & had to paint the soles. I use the .50 kind, I can't think of the name right now, but it's something like APPLE BARREL or close to that. I know it has a lil red apple on the label. Mix a few drops of water in the paint to thin out. You will probably need to use 3-4 coats. But it drys very quickly & can be completed in a couple hours.

I have used Chunk's method on a Jawa. The cheap Walmart acrylic covered the previous two tone edge.

IF you can get the boot soles painted to be the same colour and they don't crack all the time, then yes...

If not.. it'll be a new pair of base boots time.
