EFX vs RS Props Showdown!!

Recommended Posts

Okay folks, the match you've all been waiting for!

On the left, made of fiberglass, the EFX Scout helmet!

And on the right, made of ABS, the RS Props Dickey Beer Signature Scout Helmet!

I wasn't able to get a comparison photo of the back, but the EFX has 8 vents and the RS Props only 7.

I saw EFX had the their scout helmet on display and I ran right over to the booth. It really is a beautiful piece. Now they just need to release the dam thing! The guy at the booth said it would be shipping in a month or so but I don't believe that lol

Yeah Gino told me he was told "within 60 days" but even he seemed skeptical. We shall see.....

I like em both! I have a RS on the way. What killed me on the efx was the fiberglass construction. Don't get me wrong I have every make of biker scout lid on the market and would pick one up if they ever release.

From what I understand the EFX buckets are completely sold out and they are just going to be fulfilling the orders from way back when. So if you get one it will probably have to be secondhand. But I guess that is true of the RS Props lids too

Gino also told me that the bucket at the booth is not the final helmet. It was not passed by production. So they might fix some things on it. Also got to try it on and oh man its heavy. Can't wait to get mine but it will only be for display.

Looks the same to me ;)

Hahaha me too. RS might be a little bit softer and there's some differences in the decals but.....same

Oh yeah! It'll be pricey also. Like stated I would have bought one day 1 if had been made out of ABS at that time I had a fiberglass CB helmet and wanted away from it. Yessss display only!

Gino mentioned to me that quite a few of them were purchased by retailers and might pop up on ebay and the like once released. In any event I have the funds ready, haha ;-)

  • 2 weeks later...

The RS faceplate is much too soft, even compared to their own auction helmet so they dropped the ball somewhat in my opinion. I still have a EFX LE preorder so I'l see how it turns out before completely giving up on it.
