I know this website claims that their armor is 501st approved but now that I am actually able afford building my Scout Armor, I don't want to pay a lot of money for a costume part only to have it not be 501st approved.

Yup. Many of us use this kit.

No doubt that the SC armor kit is well percieved within the 501st. and getting it aproved should not be a problem at all especially in its latest version. Afaik, a lot of 501st aproved Bikers (and even some of the Lancers) have their build based on this kit.

There are better kits out there but they have another price tag as you can imagine, also there are worse ones out there. However, in the end it depends on what you make out of this kit based on research and references anyway, hope this helps :)

Actually, what SC says is that their armor has been consistently approved when finished to the 501st standard.

NOTHING is "501st Approved" and I would be wary of anything that claims to be. A much better way to think of it is "approvable".

That being said, SC is absolutely approvable. Quality stuff, great service.

They also have great customer service.. I just ordered some replacement parts about 2 weeks ago and they are already shipped. I just hope they color match to the armor I have had for a while...

Robert Studio Creations are one of the best!

Though your armour may not match. We had three builds going over my place and one member took home a part of someone else's belt. We worked out the shade was wrong, not by much. The Armour was brought from the same place but years apart.

Another option if the shade is off, go dirty. Though I do understand there is a technic to whiten armour.

Yes there is a technic to make it whiter. However it's gonna go back to it's orginal color after a few days to weeks. The paste is just a temp fix. I know most folks don't like Krylon paint however the gloss white is a perfect match to SC armour. When painted right and in light coats you can get a perfect match or just do what most of use do and weather it.
