W.I.P. Magnetic rifle sling.

TB-1599

Recommended Posts

Since I am getting some replacement parts fot my scout. I decided to repurpose my old parts into a custom scout/sniper configuration. The first thing I am doing is making a magnetic sling for my custom carbine/sniper rifle. I am using 4 cabinet magnets each has a 16 lb pull.

Here are the 4 plates attached to the rifle

I used an aluminum finger splint to make a frame for the magnets

and some washers to give the correct distance from the access ports for the plates. Holes will be drilled into the side of my old tank, the plates will drop inside the holes and connect with the magnets. Because the magnets drop into the holes. It will prevent the rifle from sliding off. You have to physically pull the rifle off.

These are a couple of proof of concepts mock ups. I just used a spare piece of ABS

I also have a video of the rig being moved around and shook but its not uploaded yet..

Once I get my new tank, I can finish this short project..

Comments and constructive crit always welcome.

That's a pretty genius little addition to make carrying a rifle really simple, clearly pretty strong too.

I'm curious what it looks like both on the rifle and the tank when they are not attached though, are the magnets going to blend in color wise? also what blaster is that?

The rifle is a Nerf Acustrike Alphahawk.

Here are a few more pictures. I attached the mounting bracket to the inside of my junk hump.

sorry for blurry pictures my son was taking them for me LOL
