TB-1599
I wanted to find out if this is something I need to be concerned about? This is how I received the bucket when I got it second hand...
BikerScout007
Dang I dunno if anyone would have noticed that if you hadn't pointed it out If it's a problem a little bondo should fix it up!

stasz
That mesh has to go for sure though
Chef
Just widen the hole out a little bit so it takes that notch out. But get shot of the mesh. That's a DQ for sure.
gmrhodes13
As suggested I would trim a little more. But if you don't want to trim anymore you could try a little paintable white silicon, you can smear off excess and get a nice finish with a dab of water on your finger and wipe.
TB-1599
yea the mesh will be coming out eventually. I just wanted to figure out what do with the defect first LOL
Retrofire
Chef has a good point. I'd take a dremel or a file and remove some material along that line. That should remove enough to make it just about disappear. Do a little at a time. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
stasz
That's a good call, Chef. I think there's plenty of meat on the inner ear edge to just cut straight down and get rid of that knick. May have to do the same on the other ear to keep it symmetrical, but that would be a pretty easy fix. TB-1599
Thanks.. So do I have to put anything inside the bucket to black the area out? Where you can see inside the vents?
Retrofire
Paint those inside regions flat black and you'll be good. If you don't want to use spray paint you can get some Testors or Taimaya paint from your hobby store and brush paint it. Whichever method you go with be sure to clean the area with some isopropyl alcohol to remove any residue before painting. TB-1599
That's an option too! Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk Cool just wanted to make sure. The fumes from paint (even after it dries for a while whew)
BikerScout007
Could I use black duck tape? I wouldn't use duct tape. It leaves a sticky residue that's a pain to remove. The film scouts used gaffer's tape. In my own helmet I used black painters tape, because like gaffer's tape, it doesn't leave residue but it's MUCH cheaper

BikerScout007
Gaffer tape is easy to find just a bit pricier. But that's what was used in the movie Sent from my LG-H830 using Tapatalk
