Just "another" quick question about the back armor and tank.

Recommended Posts

Is the tank or "hump" permanently attached to the back armor? I like to hide my MP 3 player and small speaker back there for my TB loop. But if it's supposed to be permanent, I need to change my rig up a little.

In the film the tank was attached with a strap so that it could be easily removed. Most of us rivet the tank to the back armor permanently but it is not a requirement. As long as it looks correct with one rivet on the top and bottom of the tank, you can do it any way that works for you

I can't remember who's build thread it was in, but someone put a little trap door in the back armor so he could keep stuff in the hump. Wallet and such. I had thought about doing something similar with a Camel Back water bag once upon a time...

But no, as stated it's not a requirement that it's permanently attached, but it IS a requirement that it's a separate piece from the back armor.

You want a speaker in on your hump, is that what I understand? Maybe this will help. I keep my Mic speaker in my hump and run the wire under my armor, into my balaclava. The speaker is even amplified inside the hump, so I have to get a wrangler to adjust the volume at times. I just cut a hole in my back and used the extra pads from my SC bucket for padding.
