Scout83 Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 Test fitted my upper armor after I finished working on it tonight, the belt with boxes and knees are finished, but I'm not wearing them for this test. This was all about testing the placement of the armor on my arms to make sure everything is sitting in the right place. If anybody notices anything, let me know. 1
chillywill22 Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 Dont ser anything either. Looks really good an clean . Keep up the good work
M.J Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 Hi ya Kyle, looking good. Though not sure if its the shading or my old eyes, does your lower arm piece still need trimming?
Retrofire Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 The chest is looking really good Kyle. I like the rounded neck area and the clean fit at your bridge straps. Looking at the close ups at your forearms I would agree with M.J. In that it looks like they could use some trimming around the perimeter. Here's a pic of my SC forearms for a comparison: Keep up the great work and I look forward to seeing some more progress pics. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Scout83 Posted March 23, 2017 Author Posted March 23, 2017 Ill trim those up a bit. I'm going to draw some lines on the inside and post a picture of that to see if I have the area lined correctly.

Sounds good. You'll be able to take some off a few areas but not much. Armour differs from vendor to vendor. Return edges and lips are always different.
Scout83 Posted March 24, 2017 Author Posted March 24, 2017 So I think I'll juat use this as a build thread. Tonights update, cummerbund is almost finished, just need to sew on the velcro to hold the pouches. Ignore any blue you see on on the bund, its chalk. Got to have straight lines! Need to fine tune the lengths of the drop box straps, and correct the tank pinstriping.
Scout83 Posted March 24, 2017 Author Posted March 24, 2017 Wish my wy wife had left the flash off, my fault for not checking before I de-armored.
Scout83 Posted March 25, 2017 Author Posted March 25, 2017 Made some progress tonight, got a lot done on the pouches. I way underestimated how much work those are (when you make them Lancer spec 😎)
Scout83 Posted March 26, 2017 Author Posted March 26, 2017 Pouches made, I may seam rip the flap back off the one pictured on the left and re-sew it back on.
Scout83 Posted March 29, 2017 Author Posted March 29, 2017 Finally got some time to attach the pouches to the bund, working on the vest and cod next. 1
Stroker Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 Looking good! I hate to be a joy kill however if Lancer is in your thoughts you might wanna scale your pouches down. I know the chest piece is to long and it mess everything up. I've dealt with the same thing. Nobody but one person makes a accurate sized chest. Now you can trim the shoulder straps down. I recently did a MC kit that way and it turned out nice. All in all man your on point! Keep it up! 1
Scout83 Posted March 30, 2017 Author Posted March 30, 2017 If they're too big they're too big. I bought enough material to make 4 sets in case I messed up. I'll use these for basic and make a new set for lancer afterwards. Thanks for the feedback. Which dimension do I need to scale down, or should I just take like 15 to 20 % off every dimension?
BikerScout007 Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 Pouches do look a tad large but it may help to stuff them with something that looks a little more natural so they don't look like perfect boxes. Sent from my LG-H830 using Tapatalk
Scout83 Posted April 20, 2017 Author Posted April 20, 2017 Update time. Finally got over my fear of messing up the bucket and got to work! First picture is where the seam between the back and the cap is, after I filled it. What does everyone think? Lancer worthy or basic only? The second pic is how far I got with it tonight. Needs the snout greeblie (paint drying) and the decals added, plus still need to cut ears out and paint the inside black.
