Hi fellow bikers,

with the help of the tutorial here, I tried to make my own boots. I used white vinyl I got from my friends upholstery shop.

Looks good. You might want to try and glue the dog bone down a little more.

Will do so

Does the dogbone have the stitching on it? I can't tell from those pics

What is that pull tab on the top?

Its was present on the screen used boots. Just a bit smaller.

I was not sure about the size. So I used 1inch strap. Hope that's ok.

I think 1 inch is fine that's what I used too. I believe he meant yours sticks out a bit too far, not the actual size. But it's not a big deal b9d05b7b7d4291e50303e9a9c010c93b.jpg56f66e2b67aee4fd896fb445a5ca3f09.png

Looks closer to 1/2 inch, no?

I would say is has the same size than the velcro. When I compare it to the distance of both stitching lines of the velcro . I would say it is the same size. My opinion 1inch is the better size.

Yeah that sounds reasonable!

Will add the making/result of my boots here since the basic steps are actually similar to what the TE did, the difference is of course that I took a different pair of shoes from a random work boots offer off ebay and I decied to use real leather instead...

When everything was finished, I started to pre-weather them and spent ages with polishing and fatting them in order to reach the smooth and glossy appearance.

See the following for Sole cutting, Leather making and final result...

Have any of you had problems with the right boot sagging once the holster and blaster are on it? Does it need any reinforcing?

I was looking at scratch building the blaster, but I imagine it will be rather heavy.

I added a strip of elastic with Velcro on the ends, which I riveted to the back of the holster. I strap it around my calf before closing the boot and putting the blaster in. It holds it up well

Those boots turned out really great! I hope one day I'll be able to make some of my own that look that good.

You CAN do it! You're not alone in your journey. There's lots of reference material and folks here that are here to encourage and help you. ðŸ‘ðŸ»
